"I’ve never been terribly impressed with any online courses including this one. I definitely prefer a classroom setting with a live teacher. However, there are resources available when needed, and I am grateful for the opportunity to complete this degree."

"My School was pretty nice. the campus was great i lived on campus and it was nice to be able to walk to classes. Classes weren't bad at all and i loved the majority of my professors. Specifically i loved my capstone professor. He was amazing. I recommend GCU!"

"Grand Canyon universities cybersecurity program, gave me the ability to succeed in my field. I honestly felt like the professors were very well educated in their field. They provided me the information available to feel informed about my career, After graduating from this program I was able to successfully find a job offer."

"I have been locked out because my username does not work. This is the third time now and with no help. I have reset and cleared everything on my end. Still, it does not work. I have called tech, I have emailed. I have put in over a dozen requests. I have called multiple times, and it only rings a few times then will disconnect. I only get some useless AI auto reply that is set on auto pilot. I have tried everything. I have missed major class time and can get no assistance, a simple call, no useful info that works, nothing at all. I probably have sent two dozen requests to a supposed tech department that still to this day, no help. This is awful. This is a nightmare and not at all what I was really hoping for. I am now worried that I am so far behind, that I can't complete this course. My username when it did work for a few days at a time did not help the constant worry of no access such as right now. I have emailed admissions and still no reply. Everybody is only set on auto AI reply and do not respond. That is no good when things do not work or go wrong. Not what I was expecting or hoping for and very disappointed."

"This school would be great. The professors are amazing but the admin don't give you second chances. You will spend thousands out of pocket to take their exams and if you're off by one point you will fail. They don't fight to keep their students. I know a few students who would be amazing nurses and life happened and no accommodations for them were made, no chances to retake. Yeah I guess it's "in their policy" but they fail to realize that some students work full time to "survive" and go to this school in the hopes of furthering their career. Just know if you fail once they do not give you chances and will definitely fail you and kick you out of their programs. They say they support working single mothers well that's a lie! It's all for profit with this college. Think hard before putting your money into this college."

"Grand Canyon University is a private Christian college that allows students to go in person or attend online to further their education. I am so grateful that I found this college to attend as it provided me with the ability to still be a mother, wife, full time worker, and college student at the same time. Juggling all my "hats" is hard to do but all the staff at Grand Canyon helped me in becoming the person i am today, while still keeping the Lord as my families base and teaching me how to continue to do so."

"Some online professors are kind but i have run in to some awful wannabe professors, two of them, who are actually just proctoring the student and the students have to teach themselves the curriculum so you would think the "professors " are skilled enough to grade papers. Well this Darling, lol professor didn't even do that. The work that she handed out was too long so she wasn't going to accept work that was a day or two late even if there is a sickness. She ain't about to stop and grade so much work. Heck no she's trying to enjoy vacay!!! She was miserable!!!!!!! Oh and admin will call, not sure for what, but they call it checking in. You tell them you're issues and they never ever help. It's a joke."

"I started my dissertation journey at Grand Canyon in 2018. My intended degree is a Doctorate in Business Administration with an emphasis in Data Analytics. There have been numerous delays for dissertation committee reviews of the dissertation. Some taking weeks to return a review. The delays require at some point addtional courses. These courses currently cost $2,800 for each additional course. I do not recommend the University’s Doctoral Program."

"Grand Canyon University’s online programs are horrible. For example I have requested several times to transfer the allowed number of completed classes from my previous college. I was told we are working on it, yet it never came to fruition.- still waiting. I was required to take a two-credit graduate-level writing course called Graduate Level writing (coincidentally completed at my previous college). The presentor had us lookaround the digital classrom and then we began class that was a brief introductions. At this point, this is when it all went down hill . I applied for accommodations and received them, yet it is too late because my class closed on November 5th 2025. as of today I recieved a phone call to see how I was doing, he left a voice-mail. I reutrnd the call but phone tag seem to be very popular. I am still waiting for my presentors, to review my secound and fianl draft for grading. But I have failed twice, Preparing For Academic Research Part 3: Writing A Draft Paper - no feedback Bibliography - no feedback for the final product I am sill waiting for my presentors, to review my secound and fianl draft for grading. The Halo program is horrible, hard to navigate. The popups work well! The “DQ’s” should be numbered better and grouped together within the topic. The professor started off well, but the quality and content of the lecture dropped drastically. There was one week when he was not available due to prior commitments. I have been ghosted. Left out, I was proud to be a part of GCU. Unfortunately, my perspective doesn’t reflect the positive picture I had before.I have taught over 1,200 soldiers in various areas, including Heavy Equipment Operator Courses, Combat Engineer Courses, and Primary Leader Courses. To name a few. When someone is struggling, the Cadre and students (soldiers) always helped those who struggle. We would take the time to mentor, guide, and teach so they understand and grasp the task at hand. GCU’s graduation rate for Online courses have a 45% completion rate… Need I say any more?"

"The online programs at this school are terrible. They consist entirely of writing a weekly essay and posting on discussion boards. The essays only scratch the surface of topics, and the discussions consist of students doing their best to fill a word count without having much to say. Additionally, even for the motivated self-driven student, the provided resources such as textbooks and academic sources are often low quality and off topic."

"Getting my Practicum and capstone class done has been very stressful! They do not have any partners to help assign you to a site and are useless getting you into the system and making it easy for your preceptor. Working with the Field experience counselors is talking to the voicemail more than an actual person with no response and with certain ones, never a response. I have had to call multiple times and have my FEC switched. The clinical hours are long and I am completing my 10 weeks and 100 hours soon with no guarantee that these will be approved because of the complications from the system."

"My experience has led to horrible experiences with the counseling staff and poor quality control for courses Multiple issues related to counseling have left me the only one affected. First I took the wrong content exam multiple times before a counselor informed me. I was then forced to scramble over 3 weeks to study and pass the correct exam in order to meet the deadline for my ST application. I asked if they would compensate me for the wasted fees I spent on the incorrect test. They told me they would not and that it was my fault. They claimed I acted on assumptions. I had mentioned my intentions to multiple counselors multiple times and have an email record that shows me reaching out to get a correction from the appropriate counselor. She never responded and i, being busy with grad school and work (which requires someone in a guidance role to make sure I am on top of the logistics.....like a counselor), didn't read a correction email so I kept on the same path I had formed over multiple meetings with counselors. Fast forward, I am not waiting to be placed in my student teaching assignments. Apparently they do not always place all their students, which I can understand. Yet, no counselor told me this was a possibility. Again, I sent many emails asking questions about this process and no one told me I may not get placed till the final week. I ultimately did not get placed an now must wait multiple months to be assigned, if I am lucky enough to be assigned next quarter. However, the school is asking me to pay back the loan disbursement sent to me, despite it being made clear I would only get the money if I was registered to an assignment. On top of that my loans, which have a much higher ARP than my loans from undergrad, are accusing interes while I wait. I am now working to find a temporary job, which I was not planning on since ST is a full time job, in order to pay this inter St while I wait. The counseling team not only with holds valuable information, for fear students ma leave, they are slow to communicate. They often respond to my questions with links to the information I had questions about. They often tell me they can't help me, despite many of these hurdles I'm dealing with being affected by university actions and over promises. Academic quality is also very low. Resources are our of date or covered in advertisements, both pop up and dispersed. Their library shows abstracts for resources they do not have access to. Instructors don't choose the resources and it has become obvious they do not check to see if the resources students are given are relevant or functional. I've had instructors express their concern with the resources available as well. For any amount of 10s of thousands of dollars this is ridiculous. I need help figuring out how to navigate this or I will continue to be taken advantage of."

"Most instructors are awful and counselors have no idea what they are doing. Take my advice and go elsewhere. They are a joke. Practicum hours are nearly impossible, most instructors are very cocky and offer little to no guidance. Don’t waste your time or money at this school."

"I took Anatomy and Physiology and had a horrible experience. Their lab is very silly, you need to click on the pipettes and mix solutions, besides the work you do does not save so you need to do the same work about 10x which is very frustrating. Even after all the work you do you get a D, even though your score was high on tests and quizzes was high but you forgot to submit a discussion board. Basically, you don't learn anything and the online system doesn't work. Welcome to the most frustrating experience of your life."

"The seven to eight week courses are really great. I do also love that in contrast to WGU you can turn in an assignment and have it graded as is. I love how short they are but I think the amount of assignments and the requirement of posting discussions on various days does not promise a great work life balance that the college promises. I also came in with an associates and 125 credits and the amount transferred over was disappointingly low. I think limiting the number of discussion posts and number of heavy assignments would greatly benefit the program."

"If I could give this school 0 stars I would. The counselor Pagie doesn’t take her job serious she doesn’t get back in a timely manner and seems like she can’t handle of case load of students. Didn’t speak with her til after school started even though counselors speak to you prior to starting school. All it seems to be about is money. They push Christianity on you like there isn’t any other belief. This by far has been the worst school experience I have ever had and on top of that paid for."

"If you're getting financial aid and getting stipends you don't get it until at least 3 weeks after it post and it comes in a check not direct deposit. Also one person does your financial aid academic advisor and everything it's all by one person. They don't tell you this at the beginning."

"I enrolled in the Master's Degree program in May 2025. I have been very dissatisfied with this university. I have sent four email trying to withdraw from my current program. I would have returned but literally my emails have been ignored. I receive emails telling me that I am not attending my class and that I am going to fail the class but they have NOT address my emails or request to withdraw. I will never attend this university again. Because of lack of someone doing there job, now my govt loan is messed up and who knows how long it will take to get it cleared up. As of right now I am begging to withdraw but they will NOT respond to it. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT attend here. Very disappointed."

"I am Beyond disappointed with GCU. With less than a week in their online bridge program I felt unsupported as new student. I asked for help from student service, professor and technical support. I ask to leave the program when I saw I was not getting help and support as I was influenced into starting. Yet I still have not spoken to my student councilor or supervisor. They did not hold up their end of the contract. I graduated from Walden University and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Last week i could not get access to my ebook lecture and or lab or homework. There was Problems With the Alek where the work was in it! I really wanted to give GCu the opportunity to do the right thing! I had high hopes and expectations. I have 3.95GPA with a bachelor's and this experience was disappointing. I am left to pay for 1200$ for low quality no support for their halo system. I guess you can watch a video. Walden University had real support. I now appericate the comparison. GCU do the right thing!"

"I left as soon as they tried to charge me additional money. They hide expenses that they did not disclose before starting, and if you decide to study there anyway, be sure to learn the policy manuals. Even then, there will be hidden and misleading extra fees. GCU is more problematic than a for-profit institution."
