Do not take online courses at GCU. Their adjunct faculty live in different states and could care less about your grade. I wrote over 40 emails to my advisor (in the first two weeks) about the teachers not giving a fair chance to get points back for discrepancies that the teacher makes up on their own beyond the syllabus. There is no one you can go to if you are having problems. The Dean of Academics do not handle these situations, which I'm flabbergasted by, why are you the Dean of Academics if you... Read More

I really wanted to love this school as online school works great with my schedule due to needing to work full-time. However, I would NEVER recommend this school to anyone I know, not even my worst enemy. I was completely lied to about the cost of this college as well as the time I would be attending. My student service counselor was very good at emailing me before a new class started, but any time I had a question or complaint she just disappeared. Due to a crazy busy life I fell behind on finishing... Read More

Degree: School Counseling

Currently in the online school to obtain a master's in school counseling. The online classes are easily managed and the counselors are great. However, the main reason I hesitated to attend a school out of my home state was due to the placement portion for the internships. When speaking with enrollment prior to attending, I was told that the school had worked with students in my area before and would be able to help with placement. Now that I'm nearing the end of my program, I've been told that my... Read More

Teachers- amazing Online- somewhat easy to navigate Getting started- easy, counselors were very attentive and helpful Asking for help or trying to leave? Radio silence. My first advisor dropped me without saying anything (I completely understand life happens and things come up) but my second advisor never sent me an email. I was given a week off of classes with no notice, I was put into classes without notice (which made me late + behind on assignments, I didn’t know I was in classes until I got... Read More

I'm writing in the hopes of preventing this from happening to others as it pertains to the online RN to BSN program. I graduated with my ADN in December 2021 from my local community college. I decided since I was a mother and my daughter is still younger I would go ahead and just keep going to school and focus on getting my BSN so I could work at my current place of work which is a magnet hospital as a new grad RN since they did not hire new grad ADN's anymore. The recruiter assured me that finding... Read More

There are different views of GCU on the internet, but I found my education there to be great. It was definitely challenging, but I expected that when I started my program, so I have no complaints. The professors responded quickly to my questions, and the overall experience was good, if not better, than other programs I've completed.

I have a problem with financial aid. I have never received documentation in writing, cant speak with anyone in financial aid, and have been told by three different GCU employees three different prices for the cost of the residency. It takes about a month to receive my financial aid every time which seems prehistoric. I really wish I had made another choice.

Took "University Success" as my first class and extremely disappointed. This class should have been an orientation video at best. It just went over how to access the online library, that they're religious, had you do online personality quizzes and other random nonsense that shouldn't have cost me 2 months and $3,000. This class had absolutely no collegiate value. The "discussions" mandatory in the class had no value added, the instructor didn't exist (didn't respond to discussion questions or pay... Read More

Miss represents on-line status. Requires 200 hours practical time. 100 hours clinical with a NP or MSN with a certificate, which is not disclosed. They offer little help with placement. For what it costs does not supply what is needed. The school suggests at this level nurses do not know how to assess a patient. When going through the process of admissions they do not disclose what will be needed, they promote that they are for working individuals which they are not. Counselors do not return calls,... Honestly, just run far away from this school and anything they “have to offer”. First, the student service counselors are deceiving. This is obviously a for-profit college that wants to belittle their students and strip them of all of their money. You will be harassed to no end after being blatantly deceived. Second, the courses are hysterical and not even remotely related to your degree. You spend so much time on these course and waste a year away. Doing online college shouldn't even take 4 years,... GCU came along at the right time for me. I returned to education after a 20 year stint in the Auction Industry. The classes allowed for me to continue my coaching career while working toward my masters. The instructors for the most part were willing to work with me in order to stay caught up with the assignments. It does get tedious at times but all things do. If you are serious and meet the deadlines you will have no issues. I believe most of the people who complain probably are not staying up to... Read More

Attending this University was a negative experience. The student service office is lazy, dishonest, and disrespects the student. Some teachers know the problems in the unsupportive administration of this center, which is a joke, and they take advantage by disrespecting the students, etc.

I am currently in the last class of my degree however, due to the counselors disorganization I am unable to continue. I am on hold for 3 months now and unable to finish my degree. I would not recommend this school at all. Overall, I have had a poor experience. This is my second degree and 4th college attending in my life and so far it is the worst experience I have had. Things you should know: -I was lied to, mislead and miscommunicated to multiple times about the ABSN program. -They are very disorganized, I had multiple advisors (4 in a year) because my advisors kept quiting, and the new adivsor would be confused and unable to answer my questions, frequently misrepresenting information and sending me to the wrong place, even for small things like technical support. -This school is very expensive, and advisors will suggest that you take out student loans + extra... At first I thought GCU was an awesome school. The classes are challenging and I loved that. As the classes progressed I realized all they wanted to do is indoctrinate students in to a one world government. They’re not Christians they’re Democrats. I also feel they required you take an excessive amount of unnecessary classes not pertaining to the degree. I definitely would not recommend this school. It saddens me to say that.

Horrible School! I do not recommend this school, especially their online classes. This university has a high rank of graduate students who can’t get a job anywhere, incompetent teachers who have no clue about the subjects. They are basically just in it for the money, but they can’t answer any of the student questions. I repeat, do not go to GCU, it is the worst school in the US. Originally I was admittedly hesitant to begin an online MBA program; however, my counselor and professors have been phenomenal. I’m currently in my fourth class (Finance 504), and although the program coursework is rigorous and seemingly daunting at times, I can’t speak highly enough on how much I appreciate receiving a quality education from this institution. Students definitely will have to dig into their texts and earn their degrees; nonetheless, the depth of knowledge and level of business acumen... Read More
