"The learning experience that Grand Valley State University's masters of social work program provides is a hands on style through collaborating with the surrounding community; allowing each student to network efficiently and learn first-hand about the content we learn about from textbooks. Further, the classroom sizes are small enough (25-30 students) to allow personal time with professors and the ability to create a professional relationship with them. Another aspect of the program that has enhanced my "take away" from the program is the caliber of research that is required with the program. Most recently, I completed a qualitative case study that looked at how attachment style influences post-secondary education. Participating in this high level of research has furthered my knowledge in research techniques, as well as the needs of our society. Grand Valley has provided me with a dependable environment, supportive professors, a well-rounded education, and a new network of professionals that will help me in my future career."

"The social work program is full of professors who truly care about their students. They are very flexible with students in regards to working around their schedule and being understanding about absences. They offer a number of different ways one can go about the program from full time advanced standing to part time regular standing."

"This past semester was the first semester in graduate school at Grand Valley, however I did my undergraduate there. The professors are 97% great, willing to help a student, and care about the students success. There are a great deal of resources available to student's at Grand Valley: technological and with faculty. I did not really have any negative experiences with my first semester in grad school at Grand Valley!"
