"My time at Grand Valley State University was among the best of my life. GVSU was a place I felt safe and included, while still bein adequately challenged and prepared for my future. The faculty are top-notch and are there primarily because they want to teach; research and community outreach come second. GV offers so many resources to students like free tutoring, writing assistance, counseling, and so much more. It has all the great characteristics of a division one school, like research and outstanding faculty, while still small enough that you feel supported and cared about. GV offered me a great financial aid package, and classes were offered often enough that I had no problem graduating in four years. The campus atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and there is no shortage of clubs and other groups to join.Read Less"

"Loved everything about the experience. 5 clinical rotations allow for great variety of experience prior to entering the field. Instructors were wonderful and willing to assist students at anytime. Feedback is welcomed throughout the program and taken into consideration when shaping your experience. Great curriculum with rigorous didactic work as well as clinical applicability throughout."

"Physical Therapy is my passion and I love what I'm studying. The Doctorate Physical Therapy program at Grand Valley is extremely challanging but I have learned a ton and all of my professors are very knowledgeable and helpful. They want to see you succeed as a physical therapist and provide you with the training and education to do so. I've learned so much at my first two clinical rotations and I can't wait for my next one coming up!"

"My degree program was excellent, however there were plenty of students within my degree problem who did not have the same positive experience. As with many programs, it really depends on the classes you choose to take. I consistently took classes with a professor that had a reputation for being tough, and that made me learn so much more than many of my peers. Her instruction made me more prepared for my current graduate studies. So to sum it up, it is what you make of it."

"Grand Valley State University is an up and coming university. It had the feel of a big time university but was very intimate and class room sizes weren't to much so you weren't able to speak with the professor. Every year I was there, GVSU was always under construction. It was a growing university with endless potential and has the ability to tailor to student's major."

"Overall I think the university is great! The president is very involved with the campus and pushes his faculty to be involved and provide the best for their students. There are plenty of free resources for student to succeed, from the writing center, to tutoring, and academic advising. My degree is a degree that you should definitely go into knowing you should use it for grad school. I currently am back in school for Public Health and GVSU did a great job preparing me for this program. I highly recommend this school.Read Less"

"Grand Valley State University is a wonderful university to attend. The professors go above and beyond their course of duty. Always willing to work with students to understand material and taking a personal interest in each and every student. It was wonderful to attend a university where I wasn't just a student in the crowd. Each professor knew my name and took a personal interest in me. "This school was the perfect place for me. It had a wonderful staff and a beautiful campus. There rec center was incredible. I didn't realize how good we had it until going to other schools. It was a great place to attend undergrad. I would highly recommend this school to anyone."

"The campus climate at GVSU can be described as honest, supportive and most definitely encouraging. I finished my undergraduate degree there and will soon pursue my graduate degree . With its main campus in Allendale, MI, the accessibility to Grand Rapids and the Lakeshore couldn't be better for a student looking for professional experience and a little bit of free time."

"I am currently enrolled in the Grand Valley State University Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) Degree in Leadership program. I really love the hybrid format with several on-campus meetings combined with online coursework. The courses are offered downtown Grand Rapids on the Pew Campus, which is only a short walk to many eateries, coffee shops and entertainment. I am currently taking my first course at the GVSU Detroit Center, which is only steps from the Detroit Tigers' Comerica Park. One downfall to the Detroit Center is that GVSU does not yet own a parking lot, so students have to find a street meter (2 hour max) or find a pay-lot. Both campuses have a great feel. The graduate program prepares current and future educational leaders for building and district level administration. The professors bring high quality experience from multiple K-12 roles, both current and past. This program is articulated with Eastern Michigan University's Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, which means all Ed.S. coursework will be accepted. I am considering the Ph.D. option upon graduation. Overall, this is a fantastic academic program and I've enjoyed the networking opportunities.Read Less"
