"The instructors invites discussion of questions from the class and definitely encourages humor. Covering a lot of different and interesting subjects and material. The instructor can display their passion for the material and for teaching. Green Mountain is the premier college for Sustainable Food Systems."

"Green Mountain College is a great school to pursue a graduate degree. The programs are holistic in nature, and the professors are very involved and interested in your success as a student. Your cohort of students will be small, intimate and highly productive. The skills you learn in this program are readily applicable to your work as a professional. Studying online makes it possible to attain a graduate degree and continue to work as much as needed. This adds value to your degree, as you can leverage your job to apply further and understand the concepts that you are learning in the program. I highly recommend Green Mountain College for anyone who is interested in attaining a graduate degree to launch their career to the next level."

"I chose an online graduate program because I wanted to continue working full time. I know that it seems ironic to study the environment solely through the computer, but the program is uniquely designed to get you out into your community, and allow you to focus on your own eco-region. It's the only program of it's kind. The rolling 6-week class schedule is perfect for scheduling school around busy lives. Academic-wise, it depends on the concentration you decide on, and which classes you take. As a career changer (I came from a background of English and International Relations) I found a balance between very challenging courses, and courses where my background knowledge aided me in making it less challenging. Overall, I enjoyed the projects - from sending dried plants I collected through the mail, to recording video of my field explorations, to writing extensively about a species of my choosing. I would definitely recommend this program to people all around the country - and world - looking to have a similar experience. Discussions are engaging and educational, and professors are flexible. Best of luck!"

"A very nice program and very good instructors. But in the end, I still can't get a job in this field. Paying $40 in student loans is daunting. So pick a good career based on reviews and statistics. Do your research carefully. There is no way out of a student loan!"

"I'm very please with the accessibility of the online program. It makes it possible for full time workers like myself to attend without relocating while still getting a top quality education. Their use of technology to support the social and collaborative component of online education is excellent."
