"Came willingly as an eager Christian ready to learn and be prepared for the workforce. Left bitter at the church, under qualified for a career but with a lot of friends who felt the same way.Unless you are going into nursing, business or ministry this is not the school for you.Noteworthy incidents include:* professors giving my male classmates preference in class projects over myself and female classmates* being scolded by the Dean of students for missing chapel after telling him I was going to the counseling center for my severe depression * my two guy friends getting in trouble with the Dean because they gave each other a hug and that made someone else uncomfortable?? (They were both straight)* a friend getting kicked out for crafting with wine bottles but during study abroad we drank wine in communion??I will take partial responsibility for choosing a major that encompassed TV, radio, AND film (which is entirely too much to get anywhere) but my interest was in film which the department had the least resources for of the three. Jack Shock is the bright star in the communications department and I don’t think they could ever pay him enough."

"Harding's strength is in their relationship with students. The faculty here cares about students and what they get out of their experience and time in the classroom. No campus or faculty is AlWAYS perfect. Most graduates and part time students would be the first to say that the teachers at this school are excellent. The school takes alcoholism or College dating matters with a great emphasis and care , if you are not ready for such speculation maybe other options would make you happier."

"My college was a little more expensive than most. Harding University is a Christian school that still holds true to the values of the Bible, rather than just associate themselves as a Christian school. During my time as an undergrad there were occasions when things were going really good for me, and there were times I was not doing well. I cannot think of any person who did not take a personal and genuine interest in me. Some my have put forth more effort than others, but I never experienced anyone I felt did not care. I have been able to see this in Harding University. There is a sincere sense of mission and sticking to the Christian values the school was founded on. Even more importantly, the university does not alienate or make those feel uncomfortable that do not share the same faith. The opposite is more commonplace. The students, faculty, and staff work to make people feel comfortable and loved. It does not matter where you came from or where you are going. You are treated with respect, love, and a genuine desire to see you succeed. That is one reason I want to come back to teach at Harding. I want to be a part of that experience."

"Lots of rules and silly requirements to graduate, don't even THINK about transferring out as almost none of the credits transfer. The last like 30 credits you do before graduation have to be from Harding or they won't let you graduate. (I tried to take summer classes before I graduated but they wouldn't accept the credits bc I was supposed to graduate after that... so I had to take one more YEAR for like 2 classes.. don't go unless you are able to afford all four years and for sure don't want to transfer. You're stuck there. Also NO Online options unless you study abroad"

"Harding University has been a great place to study and further my education. I specifically took most of my classes in the department of communication sciences and disorders (CSD) and am going to grad. school in the fall for audiology. I definitely feel prepared for the upcoming challenge thanks to the faculty here who truly care about each student and push them to reach their full potential. Harding in general is a warm and friendly environment and a great place to make lifelong connections due to great alumni relations and the variety of backgrounds from which our students come (50 states and 49 countries). The study abroad programs are safe, fun, and unique in the way they are conducted, and are definitely educational. Every quiz, project, class discussion, and homework assignment truly prepares each student not only for the test, but becoming a better all-round member of society."

"I have attended this Christian university for my undergraduate degree and have grown entirely as a person in my faith and knowledge in return. The strong relationships built with both the faculty and members of this community will continue to impact me during my lifetime. I have developed entirely for the better in my discipline and studies, that I plan to continue my education here at Harding University for my graduate degree in Professional Counseling."

"Harding University is a great place to grow academically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and socially. While the surrounding area is not as busy as many college students are used to there is plenty of entertainment on campus or an hour away in Little Rock. Harding University is a Christian university and although it is not required to be a Christian there are certain rules that must be obeyed. They have loosely enforced dress codes, strictly enforced curfews and alcohol prohibitions. However, I personally enjoyed these restrictions as they allowed focus on education and pushed creativity in social encounters."

"Harding University is a deeply rooted, Christian university that does a great job of integrating faith with studies of interests. It is a great school for those who would like to be in community everyday through chapel. While at Harding, several of my professors sought to get to know their students on a one-on-one level."

"Harding has small class sizes and passionate teachers, which makes your learning experience unique, in-depth, and personal. However, it is a parochial school, and a rather conservative one at that, and is not an environment in which everyone thrives."

"The Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science at Harding is a great degree with a great exercise science department. I truly enjoyed all of my classes. The only downfall to the Exercise Science degree is that if you want a good paying job, then you have to go to graduate school. Most Exercise Science majors go on to PT school, OT school, PA school, or something of that nature. Some students go on to become coaches or personal trainers, which are fun careers but graduate programs are what really gets students to a higher professional level. The Exercise Science department does great at preparing you for graduate studies."

"Studying at Harding was a great experience. Because most students live on campus, it's very easy to meet new people and get connected with campus activities. Faculty are caring and thoughtful; it was easy to build meaningful relationships with professors and other faculty. There are also many on campus work opportunities available."

"Harding is a small, Christian school with small class sizes, caring professors, and a strong influence on Christianity. Harding is conservative, has a strict code of conduct including a curfew and a no tolerance policy toward alcohol, drugs, and sexual misconduct. Harding is located in Searcy which is a small town with limited activities but is only 45 minutes from Little Rock which offers a variety of activities for any personality type."

"Harding was a wonderful Christian school with small classes, lots of on campus activities, and professors who truly care about your success and well being. That being said, Harding requires students to adhere to a strict code of conduct. If you are not willing to abide by the rules, you may not enjoy your time here."

"The program at Harding is very convenient for someone who is working and earning their master's degree at the same time. Teachers are very knowledgeable, but staff is often hard to reach and tend to offer advice that is not helpful."

"First, I would not be able to even consider a graduate program in education had it not been for Harding's flexible schedule. The availability of online, regional campuses, and main campus classes, as well as class meeting times, have allowed me to work full-time with being in grad school full-time. Plus, being an evangelical Christian, the morals and ethics adhered to by HU are in line with my personal beliefs. I am able to achieve my aspiritions of being a teacher in my second career because of the excellent programs and faculty of Harding University. I have no negative feelings about the program or the school."

"Pros for the program are flexibility, quality of the curriculum and faculty, and hybrid courses. Cons would be the cost of the program compared to a public university."

"We offer a academically rigorous program, but with great faculty support. We are a family. Our faculty have an open door policy and are always there to support us. No one gets left behind because we made it there together."
