"The dentistry program covers an extensive didactic curriculum that involves microbiology, dental sciences, biological systems, and clinical applications. The program is committed to increasing the use of technology to improve learning on and off campus. Currently, curriculum, clinical efficiency, and admissions tasks forces are being assembled to better the patient, student, and faculty experience. Faculty are usually available for answering questions. Students are encouraged to spend "out of lecture" time in the clinics to gain early clinical experience. A recently graduated dental student once told me, "the most valuable part of the D.D.S. education is that we, as student-dentists, are involved in every aspect of patient care. When we graduate, we are ready to take on all aspects of patient care, not just traditional treatment planning and technical skills.""

"The dental program is an intense program because it involves book knowledge with mechanical skills. Dentistry is a type of art which is difficult to achieve. It also requires an ability to listen to patients and treat them with compassion. There are many aspects to dentistry and the field is always changing and advancing in technology and materials. The dental school at Indiana University has the latest computer technology for the dental labs."
