"Iowa State's psychology program has a wide variety of course options available. Additionally, they advertise work for research labs every semester, which is crucial if you want experience for grad school. (Most psychology careers require some form of grad school). They had great public transportation. I have heard that some professors (particularly in engineering) are extremely stingy on absences or makeups in cases of emergency. The university does not have great support for filing for assistance with professors if a true emergency happens."

"Iowa State University is a great college to not only learn, but to make life long connections. Getting involved in activities/clubs is vital to the college experience, and Iowa State offers a wide variety of these. There are hundreds of classes to choose from, with some being simply for fun, but still counting towards a degree. Professors are willing to work with you, whether it is with class work or other circumstances, they are there to help. The environment and energy at Iowa State University is one that you don’t come by often."

"Iowa State University is a college which has a beautiful campus, caring staff and faculty, and a financial aid department which excels in helping each student individually, making sure that each student is aware of how they can afford college and the importance of financial literacy and budgeting. Not only are these aspects phenomenal, but the Psychology department in general is a great resource for students who are interested in learning more about the mind, how the environment affects people, and about different disorders or syndromes. Each professor in the Psychology department is extremely caring and willing to meet one-on-one with students in order to better their education. They not only have office hours but the professors will work with students to create additional appointments if need be, while some professors will stay late at night to work with students who otherwise would not have time to meet with the professors. The classes are also extremely interesting and the professors know their material more than anyone else. Iowa State University has some of the best faculty you can find in the Psychology area and you can tell they are passionate about everything they teach - which really helps students learn better."

"My bachelor's degree from Iowa State University has greatly prepared me for my next adventure which is pursuing my doctorate in occupational therapy. I am very excited to have been equipped to pursue my dreams of helping people for a living. Iowa State offered a lot of diversity but also an "at home" feel that made me look forward to each semester and every class. All departments I encountered were helpful, and they understood that finding exactly what profession you belong in is an adventure, and they help you succeed at that adventure."

"I was not really told what I could do with a bachelors in psych, which turned out to be almost nothing. This knowledge would have drastically changed my career path and saved me over $100k."
