"Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is wonderful to offer 3 distinct campuses with unique programs at each. At Seton Hill's campus, I am fortunate to learn not solely in a didactic/lecture format, but the core of our sciences curriculum stems from case files designed to simulate ER, Primary Care, or Specialist visits. It allows us to work on our differential, research, laboratory, and diagnostic abilities and skills. This problem based method, in my opinion, will not only provide a useful tool to review for our Boards certifications (COMLEX), but also for future practice. As a future Osteopath, I recommend osteopathic schooling over allopathic schooling for the added anatomy and physiology rigor. I have gained a better understanding of body mechanics and treatments than I believe I would at an allopathic school. The faculty as a whole is supportive, experienced, and accommodating. There are downsides, as there are to any school, but those are shrouded by the strong education I am receiving."

"There was no option to select "D.O." degree program, but M.D. is comparable; same qualifications and credentials, but DO requires 100+ hours of training in osteopathic manipulative treatment/medicine. The Problem-Based Learning curriculum is very productive and forces students to develop inter-personal skills while simultaneously learning the basic, pre-clinical sciences. Bradenton is an up-and-coming area with vast development. The students and faculty are very friendly and willing to help."

"Overall this school challenges you in just about everything you have to do as a student. The administration can be frustrating at times, but I take it as an opportunity to learn how to respond in the face of adversity. Medical school is not intended to be easy. Otherwise, everyone would become a doctor. I have learned much about myself as well as the necessary science to succeed as a future physician by going here."

"I've just started my education at LECOM and so far I'm very impressed. The school is small but seems to provide everything needed for med students. I've had great experiences with the administration and staff, who are all helpful and quick to respond to inquiries. The students seem friendly and enthusiastic. And the location of the school is very nice, with great weather, safe environment, and the ocean nearby. Cost of living is very reasonable, with lots of new apartments being built near campus. All in all, a great choice for med students."

"This program for medicine offers flexibility of learning and top-notch education value. Students are well prepared to enter residency and function on a high level within a medical team. Much of the classwork and arrangement of clinical rotations and residency is completely the responsiblity of the student; there is no counselor to hold hands through the process. At this level, though, students should be able to take initiative and perform independently."
