"Instructors in the MA Counseling program have been good/great. But they are all adjuncts so the school has trouble attracting and retaining, and very few have PhD. The MAC program is disorganized and badly-run and it's hard to avoid driving all over the state to get the required classes. Administration and advising staff provide little-to-no support in finding internships or resolving problems. Program claims to be pursuing CACREP accreditation but for two years has not sent in the application. Communication about important things (CACREP, changes to semester length, upcoming meetings) is nonexistent. Recently internship requirements were silently changed after the semester started and program director didn't inform students, but asked instructors to do so. This program is not a good value and really problematic for working adults. You will likely find promised advantages (flexibility, format of classes, accreditation) don't materialise. Advice: find a CACREP-accredited program elsewhere."

"This program is focused on nontraditional students and allows for both face to face classes and online learning. Tuition is expensive, but I worked to find ways that would help with the cost such as.scholarships. I would recommend this college to someone else who would be interested in obtaining. Degree in counseling."

"As a non-tradition graduate student at Lakeland College, I enjoy the flexibility of evening and online classes to complete my degree. The new Milwaukee center is innovative, making my peers and I connect live throughout Wisconsin, other states, and even at the center in Japan. I enjoy the diversity of my instructors and classmates, and chose Lakeland as the college is accredited by the Wisconsin Licensing Board to obtain my Professional Counselors license when ready. Being in my first semester at Lakeland College, I haven't determined any 'cons' to the graduate program as of yet."

"I enjoy the interactions that I have with my instructors; they have real world experience and are able to speak to it. I enjoy the option of having courses online and/or in person. I enjoy the small class sizes and the variation in assignments."

"Pros would include the size of the campus, it is small enough where I feel like each class can really engage in a specific student. I also like how it prepares you for the work force. Cons would include the traveling for me and the false advertisement of being able to do blend-ed classes."
