"I am a guy. I went there right after high school 7 years ago. they did not have reviews back then. I Wish they did. I'm 26 now. I am still paying back loans to that school this day. You can guaranteed they want you're money, and you will be in debt, you will be wasting you're time and money if you go here. One thing I hated most about the school was the teachers After a few weeks I had one teacher teaching every class. And she wasn't good at all. at that point i should of walked out but nope. I stayed and paid. I am so embarrassed to even say i went. there. I did not graduate. But I had friends in my class who did, and not one of them work in that field. just stay away from the school. Im sure people have had great experiences at the school, but the odds are slim. You will have a better chance wasting that money on lottery tickets than to waste money at this school.Read Less"

"I am a recent graduate of LTI (Lincoln, RI campus) in 2011. I studied Medical Assisting. I had a wonderful experience at my clinical externship and was hired before I even graduated. I was able to accomplish this because of my education at LTI. I have read all of the other reviews and can agree with both sides to a certain degree. While I attended LTI there were things that I didn't like or agree with 100%, but things aren't always perfect in everyday life. Whats important is to be mature enough to handle different problems and situations that arise. As long as YOU as a student are dedicated to achieving your personal goals, then nothing will stand in your way to getting an excellent education at LTI. The instructors are very dedicated to helping you succeed and go above and beyond to make sure you do. The hands on experience at LTI was very educational, enjoyable, and easy to understand. The text books as well. Some classes can be very challenging, others a breeze. They offer tutoring if ever needed at no extra cost. There were things I didn't like about the school. Like if you get sick or anything, including surgery. They don't except Dr's notes. They will drop you from the program after 5 days absent. No excused absenses unless there was a death in the family. A few of the insturctors really seemed like they hated thier job. I had one like that. The dean of LTI was an a**. If you ever have any complaints, its not worth wasting your breath to go to him. He really has an arrogant attitude and could care less. It is mostly women/girls in the Medical Assitant program. Alot of drama and gossip and even a few fights happend. Mostly involving the students just outta high school. The breaks could of been better. You get (2) 10 min breaks and (1) 20 min break. Doesn't really give you much time to eat. But, over all I am glad I attended. I thought I was very well prepared for my clinical externship. LTI did an excellent job helping me prepare for the state exam to become registered, and build my resume. I would recommend LTI to those who are SERIOUS. Its a fasted paced program and a quick way to get an diploma. If you don't take time to study and pay attention, you will fail. There was alot of that unfortunetly. Its only a 10 month course. They only have 1 graduation ceremony a year. So you may have to wait months to actually "walk across the stage". Your diploma usually comes in the mail 3 months after your graduation date. I kinda do wish I would of pursued a nursing program. Mostly because I wanna learn more and be allowed to do more like I.V'S. So if your into that, I would go elsewhere to do a nursing program. I am in the process of continuing my education to become an RN. But, as of now I am a Registered Medical Assistant, employed at an Urgent Care, Thanks to Lincoln Technical Institute.Read Less"

" I am scheduled to start the Nursing Program in March. I felt like what some of the people were saying here. I would be choosing this school because I'm desperate not because it's the right school, so with that being said there is a 80% chance I will look elsewhere to further my education. I will take the patient route this time in my lfe and if it takes me 2 years longer to achieve my dream I will do it that way patience does pay off....Thanks everyone!Also I want to add is I am a pretty good self teacher I am good at researching and figuring out things, i struggle in some areas in math but for the most part I can be self taught....but I'll be darned if I spend $31 plus and have to self teach myself and commit to 4days a week for 2 yearsRead Less"

"I just graduated from LTI November 2011 and it was the trashiest most unorganized school, I wish I never waisted my time or money on that rediculous place, I'll admit the admissions staff is awesome that's just because they want your money after that they could care less about you. a lot of the teachers there smoke that tells you a lot on how much you really know health care, thy give smoking breaks every hour so education is always being interrupted, the shool is mostly girls everyone knows when you get a bunch of girls together in the same class for 9 months gossip and drama another interruption to the education. I'm telling you for 18 grand go to a community college and get a associates degree because the certificate equals a high school diploma and doctors offices and hospitals don't consider it experience anyways, they promise help after you graduate I've emailed them almost everyday and haven't gotten a response back for job leads, now I'm force into paying for soSomething that didn't help me in the end and more money on another college. The only class that Is worth taking there is the phlebotomy class, hands on and the teacher is one of the only teachers that cares and act professional.Read Less"

"Folks I have read your concerns about Trade Schools and Colleges. I have instructed at both and the difference between a Trade School and a College is that the instructors are pointing out the short comings of your schooling. Work not completed and attendance. Colleges don't do this they let you sink or swim. So if you cant handle a Trade School, go ahead and enroll in college you will fail. I believe that 90 percent of the complaints have an explanation that need to go no farther then the students. In closing if you don't like to fail then comply, apply and attend. If you failed a trade school you will fail college, unless you change. Good Luck what ever your choices are. Students with a Good grade in School do have more success then those who fail. Read Less"

"This school is TERRIBLE! Not only is their graduation rate less than 50% but everything about this school reeks incompetence! They get rid of all the people who are 'for the students' and all of the remaining head staff don't care about us-as long as they have their two pennies to rub together they're happy. If you don't pay you're bill you're forced out of class until you can pay it. The institution is totally disorganized, they'll lose your paperwork (so make copies) and if you aren't proficient in doing things yourself, get ready because this school does prepare you for that (I guess one good thing???) The instructors are ok-you may get one great professor and one terrible instructor! I work hard and get good grades-I'm a third quarter LPN student. I would quit school, however you'd still have to pay the rest of the bill anyway and I have less than a year left. Don't believe ANYTHING you hear from ANYONE because it will either change on the flip of a dime, or nobody knows anything (which is usually the case). Don't waste your time or your money. It's not worth the aggravation. If you're desperate to get back into the workforce I'd say do it-it's tough work, you get a 'decent' education, but be prepared for frustration, things being unfair.Read Less"

"i did medical assistant program. took just over a year. did an intership, and got hired at a VERY respectable rate!!! all these other reviews are just from people who didnt want to put the work in. i would reccommend LTI to any one serious about starting a real career!"

I was getting ready to go there when something told me to search the school for it's reviews....didn't find one positive review except the one's that were faked..Not a school you want to go to at all. run for the hills. there are more school with better options"

"I started attending Lincoln Tech While i was pregnant. I did not hide my pregnancy, and made them aware of it from the first day i walked through their doors. I had serious complications with my pregnancy and had to have emergency surgery. I called to tell them i would be out, and could return with a doctors not and i was told that would be ok. I ended up losing my pregnancy during my operation. The Same day of my surgery, Lincoln Tech called me and told me that they had dis enrolled me. They gave me no chance to explain my situation. I called their office, left a message, and received no call back. I only got through 2 full classes, and half of two others, and they sent me a bill for 3,000 dollars! I called their corporate office and was told, " It doesn't matter why you are absent.If you're absent, you're absent." They have no compassion.Read Less"

"I'm attending Lincoln College of Technology in Columbia, MD and I'm very dissapointed in their automotive program. They're so consentrated on being a so called college, but the college program is more fake than a load of rubber dog s#!*. The people wasting their time and money to attend their so called "College" program only go to their college classes 1 day a week. If you think about it, what kind of education level do you think they'll have 1 day a week over somebody who's going to a real college (ie: university or community college) for the same degree? None. They won't have a leg to stand on. The only advantage they'll have is mechanical skills, if that. Why should we, like myself, who's just doing the certificate program, not the fake college program have to do crock of s#!* reports and speeches? For the amount of time the instructors give us doing research for these bulls#!* reports, we could be learning critical skills on vehicles of today, which are more sophisticated than ever. "They never sent out my paperwork so I can take my NCLEX-LPN. They give you the runaround for days. There is a very high turn over at that school. Every other week there is a new person doing taking out a new role, and the school rules and regulations changes every week. Be careful!"

"I was planning on enrolling at Lincoln Tech in Philadelphia for their LPN program, but after reading reviews of the scholl on this website and other websites, I have serious doubts and concerns about enrolling in theis school. I did check the BBB, & the BBB gave this location of Lincoln Tech an A+ rating. The LPN program at Lincoln TEch is also on the list of approved schools/programs from the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing. I am so confused!"

"I attended this school back in July of 2009, in their Computer and Networking Diploma Program. I like to mention that I am an A student, never late in fact perfect attendance. I will start with the good parts first. What I learn that were useful, I would say the knowledge part by that I meant 80% from books and 20% from instructors. Most of the studies consist of learning and following the directions from books. There were times when the instructions were wrong and the teachers could not figure it out themselves. Throughout the whole course, there were 3 hands on training that's it. One: taking a PC apart and putting them back together. Two: in using multi-meters to test power supply output. And three: making network cables. Now I will start with the bad parts. In my opinion I would say there were only 2 competent teachers there that REALLY knew IT, the rest read from books, even one teacher for my networking class quit the school, because we had no clue what so ever as to what he was teaching. My class ended up taking Server with a thrown in networking to make up for the last class. Six months into the school the IT classes got screwed. The school used to have IT externship programs but then it got cut off. LTI says that on these externships students gets to learn and even they quoted "some students gets hired during externships." Then during my time they suddenly told all IT students, that companies don't want students gaining access to their information. So, in order to make up for our lost of IT experience in the field the school added more IT courses, they told us that more certifications and knowledge would pay off better. That's when the course name also changed to Computer Networking and Security Diploma Program. About the Security programs they added are courses of Network Defense, Server Infrastructure, and Ethical Hacking. ND and SI were mainly add-ons for the networking and server classes. Ethical Hacking was a failed class as we skimmed through it without learning anything and just filled it out with subnet masking. That was my last class. Where I am now 2011 –IT jobless, for every places I applied they said “you have certifications which are good, but we need experience to go with that”. Losing out on the externship programs from LTI had a great impact on the students in the future of the IT field, especially if they had never had any IT experience before. LTI IT career services that’s a major joke every time I call they referred me to a cable installation job, I don’t know what the reason behind that is, anyways I went there and they told me I’m not accepted. Calling back career services answered “have nothing at the moment here’s a number for an IT staffing agency you can try.” I am currently signed up with 8 IT staffing agencies within 60 miles of where I live and still no IT jobs, it’s not that they couldn’t find me any, it’s that when I’m sent to any of their clients they said “we went with someone else that was more qualified. Since LTI I currently hold the following Certifications and some was thanks to LTI, some I continue studying: Comptia A+, Network+, Security+ and Server+ For anyone reading this I recommend going to a REAL college and if you can afford the time go to a volunteer job to gain the IT experience as Lincoln Tech will not provide it.Now I’m paying off my student loan doing warehouse jobs, while applying for IT here and there, and freelance computer repairs around the city.Read Less"

"LINCOLN TECH IS THE WORST SCHOOL I'VE EVER BEEN TO...AND I'VE BEEN TO A FEW SCHOOLS..I HAD A BETTER EXPERIENCE AT STONE ACADEMY AND THAT SCHOOL IF TERRIBLE TOO...THEY CHOOSE FAVORITES ABOUT WHO THEY WILL PASS DESPITE FAILING GRADES...THEY CHANGED MY CLINICAL SIGHT 2 WKS BEFORE THE NEXT MOD INTO A PSYCHE FACILITY WITH A TEACHER WHO HAD NEVER DEALT WITH PSYCHE PEOPLE!!!!!SOOOOO UNSAFE..BUT THEY DON'T CARE AS LONG AS EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD ON PAPER..I'M PLANNING ON MAKING A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO THE STATE BECAUSE I'M GETTING HALF THE EDUCATION THEY PROMISED AND I GET HOUNDED EVERY MONTH FOR MY MONEY AND WHEN I'M DONE I'LL STILL BE PAYING $32000!!!!!!!!!!! "If you are thinking about going to Lincoln Technical Institute, Career Education Institute, Computer-Ed Institute or whatever this school wishes to call itself, don't waste your time just go to a real 2 yr. college or something. I attended this school back in 2002 when they were Computer-Ed Institute or CEI for short. Then they changed it to Career Education Institute, lol. I enrolled in their PC Support Technician program and graduated within 8 months. We basically just read everything from a book the first semester, then the second semester was hands-on training.When I first went to talk with a counselor about enrolling, she told me and my mom a bunch of bs about the school's rep, history, recent graduates, etc. Then she went on about the job placement program... about how they helped graduates to get into a career with respected companies and so on. That's what hooked me, and several other people I know, into the school in the first place. All they really did was look at my resume, made a few changes so it looked good and got me 1 interview with a job that had absolutely nothing to do with PC Support. That job didn't work out so I go back to the school for the help they told they'd give me for up to a year after graduation. The fake counselor basically told me in a rude way, that it was my fault and she wasn't going to help me anymore and that was that. I never got my years worth of resources and help, so basically racked up $15 grand total in student loans. Do not get caught into this school's web of lies, just look at how many times they've had to change their name because of complaints. This school needs to be shutdown and they should pay back all the money they have stolen over the years. Read Less"

"Please dont make the same mistake, I read really bad reviews on this school and went anyways. Lincoln tech in RI standards are lower than high school. The passing grade is a D and you hardly receive any education. The test that you take in order to get into the school is so easy. It is moreee than obvious that the only thing this school cares about is money. They make it extra easy for everyboooody to pass so they can get your money."

"Don't go to this school, The dental program is a joke. The specific instructor that I have, lets just say she shouldnt be a teacher. This school should be closed down. You hardly receive education, it is completely unprofessional. Were in college and our teacher treats us like 2 year olds. We play musical chairs, very unprofessional."

"I went to Lincoln Tech for a year and graduated. But all the while worst experience ever. I know that you're wondering "Well why did you stay there then?" Answer is why would I leave after I paid 26+ thousands dollars for an eduacation with I have to repay back in student loans no matter what. So I finished what I started. Administrators are the worst DISRESPECTFUL. Even the DON (Director of Nursing) quit 3 weeks before graduation. Nothing is organized. Teachers are just thown into classes to teach the day of. Nothing is organized. They disrespet you as if you are a child not keeping in mind "hey they paid they're money and they are grown adults with children at home just as me." They do not keep deadlines. They NEVER keep their word, and they are new rules every term. "It all about the money if you don't pay 2 on time they charge $25.00 late free no matter it you were sick on the due day.The professor or doctor so they call.It was a problem with then that don't lising and took me to the office like a was a child and the lady in the office did it lising and got sent home and suspended then the dend didnt lising either .oh and the talk about the personal live in class with your money that your stending .The point i don't recommend at all ."
