"The MSW program at Loma Linda is rigorous and demanding, but the clinical education you will receive is top notch. Class sizes are small, and professors are genuinely invested in their students and passionate about their subject matter. LLU is a religious university; however, it is in no way forced on students. I found the school of social work in particular to be very open minded and accepting. They genuinely care for the students academic success and overall well being. My main criticism as an online student is about the practicum component of the MSW program. If you live in the area close to the university, they have lots of agencies they are already established with. It is much harder if you are not living in the area. I had very long gaps between internships which ultimately extended my program and delayed my graduation."

"The MSW program at Loma Linda is just a bunch of yikes. I ended up withdrawing from the program because it wasn't what I expected... cramming nearly 60 credit hours into a single year is PURE INSANITY. My classmates and I were just doing the work to have it be submitted and get a passing grade. This isn't education. You are supposed to learn then apply what you learn in practicum. Also the costs kept fluctuating, every time per quarter. When I got accepted into the school I was told that the entire cost of the 1 year program would be $20k then it skyrocketed to a whopping $60k. None of the prices they advertised per quarter was accurate. I have a suspicion LLU is only a quarter system to milk more money out of the students. It’s insane that someone is expected to take 5-6 courses per quarter, on top of doing a 21-24 hour a week practicum. What about self care? There is nothing special about loma linda. please find a local msw program that costs only $7k per semester and wont confuse you."

"Very unorganized social work program. Save money and go elsewhere. There is only about 2 teachers that truly care about the students and the staff plays favorites. Don’t trust any staff because they talk behind students backs. …Many students don’t graduate on time because of the careless errors of the administration."

"I had a wonderful experience at Loma Linda in the MSW program. I did the Title IV-E program and it set me up for a very successful career in social work. I appreciated the clinical focus that LLU has in this program. I also appreciated the small class sizes and personal attention from the professors, as well as the religious/spiritual aspect of the program."

"Loma Linda gave me the confirmation of me walking in FAITH. I have debated for a long time on whether or not to go back for a graduate degree. I relied heavily on my FAITH and after several interviews and encouragement from the profession al staff with Loma Linda, a dream I never thought would ever come true did. I was accepted to graduate school to pursue the desires of my heart. The friendly, compassionate and encouraging staff walked me step by step through the enrollment process and further fueled my decision to take my education to the next step. Loma Linda a school to be very proud of."
