"It was an all-around great experience once we got past the financial aspect. Cost of living is really high in the Inland Empire. I'm married and have two children so the financial aid that is available is not even in the ballpark of close to enough. A family of four has to find off campus housing which is scary expensive. I ended having to work part-time to cover expenses, while doing a full-time PhD. Not ideal. But if you can deal with that, or if you're single, this can be a great experience!"

"The pros of this graduate program are that I will receive an experience which will support my professional career and receive the necessary skills to begin a career as a biostatistician for the Center for Disease Control. It has supportive staff members and small classes to facilitate student growth. The only cons that come to mind are the costs of tuition and books."

"Loma Linda University provides a wonderful environment to receive a higher education in many fields. With so many programs within the school, it is very easy to intermingle with different disciplines and to integrate the other fields of study with your own. As a Christian school, it provides the opportunity to grow not only academically, but spiritually as well."

"Starting graduate is kind of starting kindergarten. You are nervous to start the program and also meeting new friends. Graduate school is very challenging but could be overcome with a lifestyle of discipline, exercise and have a great self-esteem. Graduate school financial aid don't provide much fund to pay for your education. But over all their value system keeps me motivated to continue my education and pursue my dream."

"While the program has been helpful to me in many ways (e.g., flexibility in classes schedule, faculty and staff availability, stay locally), it has been difficult to compete with students from other accredited and more well-known universities vying for the same work/training positions."

"Loma Linda is a very supportive place with an emphasis on the spiritual aspect of healing, which I think is so fundamental to the practice/art of medicine."

"I am grateful for the opportunity to enter into the medical school through this program but wish tuition was offset and they offered more scholarships as it is essentially one more year of medical school."

"Decent program. Faculty-student interaction needs a bit of work. However, it is overall a warm, safe environment created for learning with minimum amount of stress present."

"My graduate program is very intensive, especially because I began during fall quarter. However, Loma Linda University's School of Behavioral Health faculty is very supportive of our education and assists in the search for practicum sites and jobs. Faculty is also great at helping guide us on our way to becoming therapists."

"Very support of each individual. The faculty actually want to see each student succeed and make themselves available in order to facilitate this process. The physical therapy staff was top notch and many of the instructors were very well respected in the physical therapy community."

"The pros of my graduate program is that it is a large campus, yet a small, intimate program. Professors deeply care about the students, in and out of the classroom. The cons are like any graduate school - cost. Graduate school is expensive, and I wanted a private school. It does not come cheap. I do believe, however, that the pros outweigh the cons in every single way."

"Pros: I love the accessibility of the faculty and staff, they work so closely with you for your academic and personal success. There's a feeling of being among family during the classes. It's very oriented to making man whole, so this encompasses service in every part of human need, physically, morally, academically, emotionally, and spiritually. They promote personal wellness and blue-zone living. They have a faith-based education system and they put their money where their mouth is. Cons: Research is limited to health research. The campus is not huge (this may not always be a bad thing). The gym and the library is closed on Saturday nights."

"This University offers a DPT in healthy environment, surrounded by other medical professionals. I appreciated and learned so much from my professors, and they were always available for any questions I had, whether I needed to contact them through email or in person at their office, the lines of communication were always open. I felt prepared once I graduated to sit for the Boards, as well as start working in the field. The class size is around 80 students, and I made friends that I am still close to today. In a class of this size, you blaze through the challenges together, and it brought us closer."

"Loma Linda University is an amazing school and a great place to be. I graduated with my BS in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2008 and that program was amazing. I am just getting started with this MBA program and excited for what is to come."

"When comparing Loma Linda's Counseling and Family Sciences academic vigor to other schools in the country,I can proudly say that we have one of the best (if not the best) programs. The Marriage and Family Therapy's high quality training program supplies students with more than enough training to work in the real world after graduation."

"Pros: Wonderful instructors, very supportive faculty, high quality education, strong clinical practicum training that prepares you well for your future job in mental health Cons: Expensive, not much social life on campus, not much to do in surrounding area of Loma Linda, not enough support in finding employment after graduation"
