"The masters program is a very intimate/ small program. Students learn in a hands on experiences where professors are mentors and guide students towards specific area of interest."

"In a competitive yet supportive environment, it is challenging enough to motivate yet supportive enough to really shine. The internship was just what I was looking to be involved with, to develop networking contacts while gaining practical field experience. Enriching, enlightening and productive are the words that come to mind to describe the program."

"My program is APA accredited for clinical psychology. It is a great program for future psychologists inclined to be more involved in practice than research. The campus is spacious, in the lovely surrounding neighborhood of Brentwood, Long Island. It is close enough to New York City to balance an active social life while being involved in the program. I would encourage anyone to check out this program."

"Attending graduate school is a considerable opportunity. Obviously not to be taken lightly to those that undergo the program. The pros of this particular program: small class size, support of faculty and knowledgable staff. Information is communicated more effectively in these types of settings. No institution is without their share of problems, however LIU- Brooklyn overcomes them with tact and agility."

"The Clinical Psychology program at Long Island University at C.W. Post Campus is a wonderful program that promotes competencies in its future psychologists. With appropriate supervision, students can become highly skilled clinicians. There are also research opportunities available. As a Psy.D. program, financial aid comes primarily from loans. However, the school maintains a high APPIC match rate at internships across the United States."

"It is a bit isolated from shopping and other activities but I lived off campus so this didn't really bother me. Finding parking close to my classes was also sometimes difficult. Otherwise, this is a great school. My advisor and professors are awesome. They are knowledgeable, available, and talk about relevant topics to my field."

"The program is great so far. After having taken off several years from school due to family illness I was looking for a part time program that would be ease me back into academia, and have a staff and a work load that understood I had a full time job while still being challenging. I got that at LIU, in my very first meeting I explained my expectation for the program and they helped tailor my class schedule around my work and have been very understanding about my needs as an employer and a student. The only down side i have seen so far is that not every professor answers emails, and the parking is far and not well lit. Otherwise my time at LIU has been great and is highly recommended to anyone who is looking to return to school."

"Urban Studies department needs growth. Due to the lackluster efforts of the Director the program offers very little incentives and no research opportunities."

"The political science program is taught by some very well-qualified and knowledgable professors in the heart of Brooklyn, NY. There is no greater diversity than this school which is nationally recognized for its diverse environment. The program is comprehensive focusing on four core areas of study including political theory, international relations, comparative politics and American politics, however, it comes with a lot of heavy reading and writing, which should be expected at the graduate level. The evening program gives the student the flexibility of working full/part-time during the day. Lastly, you have the flexibility to either complete a thesis or take a comprehensive exam at the end of your studies. The few problems I have are the availability of classes -- core classes are not available every semester so it's purposefully spread out over a 2 year term, which is inconvenient for students who may have transferred into the program but still want to graduate on time. LIU is a private school so tuition is going to be on the high side. And although the professors are quality, this isn't your NYU or Columbia grade of study so the price is a little ambitious for degree/school quality. Otherwise, I'm overall satisfied with my decision to pursue my degree here."

"Wish more financial assistance were available for graduate students. i currently live on dorm and although where i live is wonderful it is expensive especially if you are someone who hasn't a choice but to live on dorm. Social events which would encourage graduate students to interact would also be helpful."

"LIU-Brentwood is a great school to get your Master's degree. There are no "bells and whistles" and at this stage of schooling, your paying for your education, not social clubs. I'm only in my second year, but I love the close and intimate classes. You get the attention you need and the help you want from everyone from professors to administration. Everyone is looking out for you. This is a great school to make connections and begin to build your networking skills."

"accounting is some what in demand program. the professors are good they tried to transfer knowledge. the school is safe. pros are that they want their students to pass cpa exam. you have to work on your own to achieve that. students should receive more guideline on their career."

A on can be that the location is not the best but it is still accessible to many people. Overall I love LIU and would suggest it to anyone looking to get a great degree."
