"Pros of an education at Longy would include the personal attention and care of teachers and staff to each student, the small student body, and the strong support and respect students have for one another. The only con isn't about the school, but the cost of living in the Greater Boston Area is high."

"I feel like the Longy School of Music is an excellent alternative to the more "big name" conservatories in Boston. With its smaller student size, it offers individual attention to each attending student. The facilities are gorgeous, and you get to know each and every faculty member and most of your colleagues. They provide excellent feedback and I have performed dramatically since attending. Teachers and administrators genuinely care about you, where as a larger school (such as a state school) does not give you that special attention. The cons are obviously the price tag, as tuition is very expensive. There are no shuttles or parking lots, so for transportation you are on your own."

"Among the several qualities of Longy, of paramount importance is the faculty's willing to help students succeed, and preparing them to do so after graduation. The courses related to Teaching Artists are the best anywhere. Perhaps the only con is the somewhat limited course selection because it is a small school."
