"Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center has thoroughly helped me prepare for the type of field I want to pursue in the future. The variety of class content and individualized attention received from professors has helped develop my self-efficacy to network within the greater city of New Orleans. I have been able to apply my learning outside of the classroom to develop future opportunities for employment upon graduation. The city of New Orleans itself also offers a great quality of life. Overall, I have enjoyed the real-life application of my education I have gained from obtaining a Master's in Public Health at LSUHSC."

"I am currently attending Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA. I am currently enrolled in the RN-DNP nurse anesthesia program. I have only been in the program for two semesters and so far have not been very impressed. I feel like the program is very unorganized so far, which should not be the case since it has been around for quite some time. I have not started doing clinical rotations yet, so I cannot comment on how they are run. However, I have heard from others ahead of me in the program that the clinical rotations are not very organized, just like the classes. The school also makes you travel to many other clinical sites outside of New Orleans to do rotations, and travel and living expenses are not included in tuition and fees and are additional expenses. While this is disclosed when you apply, you cannot work once clinical rotations start, so money is tight. While this is a downside I have read many reviews online and heard from a couple people that they feel very prepared once they graduate. Because this is a doctorate program, a doctoral project is required to graduate. Since most people who attend the program are not looking to do original research, I feel like there is way too much time and emphasis spent on the project and not enough time spent reviewing and preparing for the national certification."
