"The MIT momentum is simply fabulous: you are in contact every day with the world's best faculty, with most amazing speakers, with top companies, and with students from the whole planet. Whether interested in finance, Macro-econ, entrepreneurship (!!!), consulting, general management, in emerging market or in mature market, you'll be at the right place."

"Brain and Cognitive Sciences Program: Very competitive but the department is friendly and willing to help. Faculty members are accessible and willing to get to know new department members. The technological advances are superior to all programs and departments I explored while making my graduate school decision and the high degree of collaboration between the labs make it an exciting, friendly research environment. The workload and expectations are high. However, I am positive that I made the right decision to do my doctoral education and research here."

"Two sides of the same coin: a very talented and capable student body and highly driven faculty working at the forefront of their fields, but a very demanding workload which leaves students feeling inadequate and starved for leisure time."

"MIT is a fast pace place. You are surrounded by brilliant people which is awesome but can also be overwhelming. Cambridge is a great place to do graduate school."

"MIT is a surprisingly social place, with a surprising amount of fun to be had. The student body is fairly diverse, with most grads being extremely good at a hobby or two. Most people here are passionate about something besides academics, and it is refreshing to mix with musicians, athletes, and other talent."

"No, seriously, there are humanities at M.I.T.!! Although maybe I shouldn't tell too many people, lest the secret get out about how cool SHASS is. Incredibly strenuous - it is M.I.T. after all - but the faculty is world-class and the same can be said of the community."

"Pretty nice place, if you want to be at the edge of research. People are a bit odd. but being near Boston gives you a lots of nice places to meet different people. Amazing academic and pretty competitive."

"Great school. Labs well established. Outside of labs, things are falling apart. Technology is outdated. Undergraduates are too focused on doing Psets and not actually learning. Most people have tunnel vision, as is to be expected of an institution of higher learning. Many very talented people lacking basic life skills, and this mantra is well supported by the institution. However, great education if you can navigate the pot holed road set forth. Sound theoretical basis, though appreciation for practicality varies substantially from Prof to Prof."
