"Pros - faculty is very knowledgeable. Also school really prepares students to perform there best on state licensing exams. Cons - faculty are out of touch with today's conditions. School's technology is far behind. Students are not at the forefront of the concerns for the school."

"I think one of the greatest things about Meharry is that it is built upon family values and truly becomes a family oriented environment. My favorite thing about the school is perhaps the willingness of everyone be it student or professor to help anyone in need. Most students are often willing to sacrifice their personal study time to assist their fellow peers in times of need. It is a fairly small campus so most people often get to know each other regardless of the program they are in."

"The pros of my graduate programs is enormous and words could not describe how honored I am to be one America’s future dentist. I will have the ability to change and help people’s lives. I could travel to any part of the world and my expertise would be needed. I will be able to serve all social classes and cultures which is truly admirable. The cons are that I have devoted almost 6 years in undergraduate work and I have about 6 more years to complete dental school with residency. Another con is that I will be in a lot of debt at the end but education to me is priceless. Another con is that I will be moving away from my hometown and be away from loved ones."

"Pros, The institution does make you feel like you in a family, so as you embark your medical education, you know you are not alone and that your classmate will hep you out. However, the school does need to revamp it's curriculum to be more similar to other medical schools."

"Pros of this school are definitely the students. These students are passionate about the underserved and destitute as well as medicine and science. The students are chosen not for their grades but for their passion and backgrounds. It has been noted that those from lower income backgrounds are more likely to reach out to others of the same class after receiving their M.D. degree for many reasons and some unexplained ones too. Meharry has given students chances to be bright and stellar physicians for not only the poor but the nation. Graduates from this school have greatly contributed in the past to medicine. The cons are due to the fact that the school is not well to do income wise as well as lacking in certain departments in regards to academics leaving the students to seek outside resources in preparing themselves."

"Pros: The campus environment is small and intimate, which makes for not feeling like you're just another number. In addition, it doesn't take too long to get anywhere on campus, or find the resource that you need. Cons: Since the campus is smaller, there may be some resources that are not available. For example, the campus does not have many restaurants around, and hospital cafeteria hours are limited, so when you are studying late, your options are limited. In addition, public transportation is not great in Nashville, so unless you have a car, or live near bus stops, it might be difficult getting around without a car. Other than that, it's a wonderful school!"
