"The pros are the effectiveness of the teacher-student involvement and help they have to offer. Teachers are frequently available when help is needed. Academic work is challenging yet explained and walked through by the professor. The cons are unprepared material on the New York State exams. Teachers are unsure of the material provided on the exams therefore cannot prepare the students to take and pass them."

"As a student of the Graduate School of Education's Online Program, I have found that the teachers for the most part, are very willing to help you out, assist with any difficulties one might have and work with you to make sure you are learning the necessary things for your degree. My personal issue is that the lack of communication between the Deans, as well as the Chairpeople is absolutely horrendous. Due to the changing teaching standards, they have repeatedly tinkered with the program, and I have never received word of changes. In addition they also bar you from registering if you do not complete the Certification tests within a certain amount of time. I am graduating a year and a half later than expected due to this. No other school that I know of has this requirement. In addition, the financial aid office is not supportive or willing to answer questions. They also have a problem with different people giving different answers for things. If you have to come here, then beware. But personally I wish I didn't. I know I have to finish I have come so far."

"The pros I feel about the graduate program the mandatory fieldwork that is required in the class. With the fieldwork, you are able to apply what you are learning in class and incorporate it in lesson plans or classroom management. The teachers are very supportive and understanding with students. These are not just professors who do this for a paycheck but mentors to help us along the way. The only con I would have to say is the little financial aid. Unfortunately financial is not determined by the grades of a student but of their income or their parents income. Many students are choosing not to go to Mercy College because the financial aid is too much."

"The faculty are very supportive and possess current and pertinent knowledge in the education field. Each class solidified the necessary information needed to operate as an educator, which caused me to feel highly satisfied with my decision to attend Mercy College."

"I love that my campus is easily accessible and the quality of educators that are teaching the courses. The biggest issue I have with Mercy College is the lack of proper deans of education on the Manhattan campus. There are times that I have questions but there is no one that I can meet with face to face."
