"I am very proud of, and enthusiastic about , Mississippi State University. It is a land grant institution located in my home state of Mississippi. We have a very diverse student body made up of many native Mississippians along with out-of-state students. The family atmosphere and welcoming environment truly make it the people's university of Mississippi. It is a research-oriented university that offers many opportunities to conduct research in a wide variety of areas and specializations."

"The education program at Mississippi State is by far the best in the state. I felt that I knew all that I could possibly know about education that could be learned outside of the classroom. I felt confident going into my career because the care and knowledge that was shared to me by my professors was very encouraging."

"The pros of my graduate program are that It give me insight to the IT field which is the most emerging center and it helps me to get hands on various software's and programming language like SQL, PHP ,which helps me build up my skills very nicely . It helps me know new ways to develop different skills technical and management both. Faculties help me a lot and cooperate very nicely. Coming to Cons of the program I do not see any con for the program ,but sometimes I feel if I could get more hand on core programming like Java would be an incentive to me."

"I thought it was a great school. The classes are small enough that the professors take the time to know each student and always have time for conferences."

"I could not begin to recommend a better school than Mississippi State. From the vast array of educational programs, to the many extra-curricular activities, to the great friendships you will gain here, you will never be disappointed by attending Mississippi State! Hail State!"

"Living in the dorm my freshman year was a great decision; I met some of my best friends in those hallways and pretty much the only friends I am still in touch with over 10 years later. It's okay not to know exactly what you want to major in when you first begin. Focus on taking the core classes your first year and learn as much as you can about the other programs and career possibilities. Have fun (I sure did) but college is about learning and more importantly learning how to learn. Working part-time, volunteering, extra curricular activities, etc. are all as important to your resume as your degree and grade point average so do some if not all of those."

"Around 99% of my experience was distance learning. Not sure about campus life, however, this University is essentially in the middle of nowhere with little to do in the region."

"Mississippi State has a great sociology department that is really blooming right now. If you are not okay with the rural atmosphere, the surrounding area might leave you feeling trapped. I actually appreciate the quiet off of campus. It is a great way to relax while reading or writing, and so this place really works for me. The program has high expectations, but the faculty help you. You cannot be afraid to ask for help when you need it. Faculty will sit down with you, give you ideas, or suggest resources or readings and that is really helpful. The cost of living is not bad, but off campus rent can be steep. I highly suggest giving yourself a nice budget for housing."

"I started my graduate degree program in the Spring if 2013 under my advisor Dr. S. My focus was in Human Factors and Ergonomics research. This was a different type of work from my training in my undergraduate degree of biomedical engineering. However, once I met with Dr. S. for the first time and learned more about this field, I was sold. The Industrial Systems and Engineering program at Mississippi State, both on a graduate and undergraduate level, is very well organized, friendly, and knowledgeable environment. From the great administrators who work in the main office (Mrs. Bonnie and Mrs. Peggy are the best!) to the professors whose doors are always open for homework help or life advice, this department as a whole has given me so much. The professors have a wide range of expertise and research projects. They are very open to allowing students to gain research and real world experience. The department has a lot of clubs/societies related to the field which are a great way to meet people who share your interests. As a graduate student, I got to know my advisor Dr. S. very well. She is an amazing researcher and teacher. She was a positive force during my time here and even helped me obtain my job after graduating. I highly recommend this department to anyone considering an Industrial Engineering degree. Mississippi State as a whole is also a great campus to grow up and learn in. The environment and the people are incredibly welcoming and there's never a dull moment. There is ample opportunity for social events and tailgating in the junction is a special experience. You'll be chanting "Hail State!" and clanging a big maroon cowbell in no time! There is definitely no shortage of Southern hospitality. The availability of financial aid, scholarships, and tuition cost are very reasonable. The dorm options offer a wide variety as well. I recommend this university in general, to anyone seeking a good college education and experience."

"MSU is located in the small town of Starkville, MS. The campus is very large, but after a few weeks, it will feel like home, and your classmates will feel like family. There are many groups to get involved with around campus so there is never a dull moment. The MSU Department of Art offers one of the best art programs in the South East. It gave me a lot of confidence knowing that all of my art professors were practicing artists. Although, at times they gave doses of tough love, by graduation, I was fully prepared for what the real world was like. I have gone to many interviews that ended in compliments not only on my portfolio, but the amount of skillful knowledge I had right out of school. All in all, I am happy with my education, and am very proud to be a Mississippi State University Alumni."

"My degree in Business Administration at MSU has helped me tremendously! My major emphasis was in marketing (which I learned to love in Mrs. Moore's Intro to Mkt class), second emphasis was Management and my third emphasis was Finance. This was a great major for me because I was versatile in several different job fields. I was also able to find a great job, just so happens it's located in our rival town, Oxford. However, it's turned out great because Oxford could always use more Bulldogs! Hail State!!"

"The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Mississippi State University is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). I attend the campus located in Meridian. It is much smaller than the main branch and less diverse, but I enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Other colleges with the same program may require fewer hours for graduation, and because of this, some people who graduated had to go back to school to take more classes per their employers' requests. The Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Mississippi State University is highly recommended because its graduates will be prepared for a career in this field."

"The pros are that the diversity of the department will allow me enough to interact with different people and learn from their experiences. Cons might be that I just got accepted and I do not actually know a lot about Mississippi State. But I've heard wonderful things about the university and am excited for the experience."
