My undergraduate career was a learning experience. My university had it's fair share of problems but the department that my degree fell under was fairly small and closely knit, so I was able to develop fairly close relationships with my professors and fellow students involved in that department.

Mississippi State University Meridian campus was a great place to transfer after completing my basics at Meridian Community College. The professors for the most part were fair and willing to help students. Most advisors worked to make sure all classes that needed to be taken were done so on time.

Mississippi State is a great institution. However, I found that minorities tend to not get the same attention as their Caucasian peers. I saw a lot of minority students get caught up in the system. Some were suspended and others were told that they could no longer attend due to academic probation. My experience was not as such, but my downfall came in the form of an adviser who had no regard for my future. Please be attentive and take charge of your destiny. Fact check and don't assume that everything you are being told is true. You hold the power.

Around 99% of my experience was distance learning. Not sure about campus life, however, this University is essentially in the middle of nowhere with little to do in the region.
