"NCNM provides a very rigorous education that is very well-rounded. The facilities are great, staff are very accessible and accommodating, and it is in a great location. The curriculum is encompasses every aspect of nutrition. They provide a lot of support for students and a lot of resources. The only downside is that there are no dorms and parking is limited!"

"The graduate degree in Naturopathic Medicine at NCNM is unique in that it allows the student to learn the medical sciences and tools needed to be a successful family practice physician while expanding the student's tool box by teaching them Naturopathic medical modalities like hydrotherapy, physical medicine, nutrition (food as medicine), herbal medicine, homeopathy, and more. It also is close to a large number of clinics, which allows a lot of patient contacts and the professors are very accessible, knowledgable, and helpful in both academic areas and in practical knowledge (such as how to set up a practice after graduation). The cons of this degree are that not every state in the US has recognized N.D.s as licensed family practice doctors as of yet, but it is growing (27 states have at the time of this post). Overall, NCNM is a great school if you are looking to study Naturopathic Medicine and become a Naturopathic physician. It is also in a very fun city, Portland, OR, with a lot to do, great food, and great people."

"The stars in the survey will not stay activated, so I am not able to use them. I think that NCNM is the best of the naturopathic programs in N america. The 4- year program is extremely rigorous, so if you can stand to spread it over 5 years, it would be a much saner lifestyle. There are many dedicated teachers. Portland is the perfect location for a naturopathic college because there are many practitioners to precept with who are using many various modalities. You are likely to be able to find someone with your desired specialty to precept with, regardless of what types of modalities you want to learn. The program is quite pricey, I think, although I haven't compared it with other programs and the financial aid they offer."
