"The pros: A dedicated faculty with experience and willing to develop students abilities. The cons: Communication of formal activities and requirements needs improvement, because even after being accepted some things are not very clear."

"New Mexico State University offers an amazing learning experience and environment to push your education but only if you are willing to reach out and be proactive in your own learning. The education college is generally supportive and helpful but faculty is not very diverse. Research experience is always available. Overall, The university is a great place to enhance your own learning experience but you have to actively look for social events, diverse faculty, and push for change."

"Studying Civil Engineering at NMSU is the most rewarding experience because one can not find any where as cheap as this school and at the same time with highest quality of education. The faculty is so friendly and it feels like home. Though the city is kind of isolated from the rest of the world, the place is a home to various fun activities."

"I feel the pros of my graduate program was the helpfulness of the admission office in answering questions pertaining to the application process. I was able to call and talk to someone who was knowledgable and very friendly. My advisor has also been very helpful in acquiring a TA position. He also advised me on which classes to enroll in and safe places to live off campus. Every person, faculty and administrative, has been very helpful in acquainting me with NMSU. The cons of my graduate program is that scholarship information is not as readily available to everyone. I found applying for scholarships to be difficult."

"There are some excellent instructors and staff, especially the core professors and administrators, but some classes didn't prepare me as a future teacher."

"The MPA program is relatively new to NMSU. The program has great potential and an excellent student-professor ratio. Although they are trying to grow the program, the small class size allows for maximum interaction and ability to learn. Unfortunately, the program is not as developed as I would have liked. For example, there is inconsistency among who in the core professor are as well as confusion as to where the program is headed. It appears that the program is willing to sacrifice quality of professors and overlook student concerns simply to maintain national accreditation. That being said, NMSU is one of the only NASPAA accredited programs in the area, leading to a higher quality of students enrolled. ."

"I love my professors and the area of study. At times I feel the university wastes money on things such as running the sprinkler system in the middle of the day on a hot summer day in the desert."

"They have an awesome distance learning program. I would have never completed my MBA if it wasn't for the staff and flexibility of the teachers and the overall program. I recommend to everyone that is or will be in New Mexico and is consistently moving."

"NMSU is outstanding! The college of Education and the Graduate school faculty &administrative staff are phenomenal! The cohorts and course load are designed in a particular way that pertains to your field of study. Timeliness of any professor or administration returning my email or phone calls goes beyond what is expected from any other university. I love NMSU and would recommend it to everyone."

"New Mexico has a great graduate program especially the School of Education. The professors hold office hours face-to-face and via Skype if needed. As for the workload, it is heavy but manageable. I stayed in Las Cruces for two weeks and it was very enjoyable. We had a diverse student body, the school has bus transportation, and the financial aid representatives will work with you. My overall experience with NMSU has been great!"

"The Graduate program in Biology at NMSU does not offer many course alternatives for students of the different areas in Biology. Faculty members are enthusiastic about research and seem open to help graduate students."
