"NOBTS is truly a school of providence and prayer. Through much prayer, personal and situational confirmation, God allowed me to pastor two Filipino Mission churches, work two jobs, get married, have a son, and graduate. He caused me to finish a three year M.Div. program in seven years. Despite my bipolar and anxiety disorder, the heavenly Father helped me to persevere. I had left everything behind to go to New Orleans, but God honored my obedience by providing all of the above."

"New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary beautifully balances academic excellence and practicality. I was blessed to study under some of the best minds in theology. The professors all are experts in their field, yet know how to communicate deep and intricate truths in a comprehensible manner. I was challenged by each course, and no matter how busy the professor was, he or she would always take time to help with whatever problem. Even though the professors are brilliant, are not merely theologians. They all compassionate ministers who love the city of New Orleans and take their theological beliefs seriously enough to live them out practically. On evenings and weekends, they devote their time to bettering the world and showing the love of Christ in tangible ways. I still communicate regularly with several professors for academic questions or to simply seek their guidance. Furthermore, the president of NOBTS, Dr. Chuck Kelley, is an incredible leader. He guided the seminary through the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina with bold and gracious leadership. This leadership continues to make the seminary an excellent place. Dr. Kelley is also an incredibly humble man. During my first week on campus, I was eating lunch and heard someone say, "Excuse me. Could I take your tray?" I turned around and was shocked to see Dr. Kelley, taking people's trash at the end of the lunch hour. This is no show, for even a short conversation reveals a deep and genuine humility in him. I would not trade anything for my experience at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and wholeheartedly recommend this school."

"NOBTS provides a quality education with very intentional professors. It is not located in the best area of New Orleans, but the school does the best they can to maintain a safe campus where students can feel comfortable. Technology at NOBTS is outdated, but the emphases of many degrees does not require a high level of technology."

"A pro is that I am able to take classes while also currently working in ministry. And, even as a "distance learning" I've been able to have community. Another pro is that its a great educations without the extremely high costs of many other schools. A con is that communication is hindered via internet."
