"NMU is a great school. Most of the professors are down to earth. The location is great for anybody who enjoys doing things outdoors in all types of weather. It's pretty chill. Very easy to make friends in your classes."

"When I was looking for a college to attend, I was looking more than just an education, I was looking for a real life experience. Northern Michigan University and the city of Marquette made this possible. Not only did I learn a lot, I was able to get out of the classroom and experience a wilderness I never before had seen. The extra coricular activities were a major highlight of attending NMU."

"You'll be hard pressed to find a more beautiful campus and city than northern Michigan and Marquette. Right on Lake Superior the summers are amazing and the area surrounded by natural beauty. If you love winter or can handle the long harsh ones here you'll do great. Besides the setting the classes and teachers are also great. NMU is a relatively small University so class sizes are small and it is easy to get to know your professors who are usually very approachable. I had a great time and learned a lot at NMU and would recommend it to anyone who asked."

"Northern Michigan University is in the middle of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Northern Michigan University is surrounded by hills, forests, and is in a metropolitan city. The area has grown over the years and is considered to be the largest city in Upper Michigan. The school is located in the middle of the town close by downtown where students can visit and support local shops. In addition the school is located to Presque Isle, a geologic location featuring beautiful lake Superior agates and Jacobsville Sandstone. Students can go there to go surfing in Lake Superior, relax on the beach, visit the bog walk, and roam the many trails featured in the area. Northern Michigan University's Earth Science program is a small, but prospering. This program allows students to interact with other students and get to know his or hers professors. The classrooms are mostly field base. The field base courses offer many field trips across Marquette and the Upper Peninsula to learn about the geography and history of the area. In addition, Northern Michigan University has a wide fields of programs to apply for allowing students to find their dream degree. Students who go here are surrounded by the diverse seasons. In the fall students will be able to discover the multiple trees loosing leaves and showing beautiful colors of red, orange, yellow, and green. In the winter snow up to 3 feet or more is accumulated, which is perfect for skiers and snowboarders in the area. Lastly, the summers are warm and cooled by the sweet smelling windy air coming from Lake Superior."
