"Great school, extremely tough academically but worth the payoff upon graduation. Reputation alone, Northwestern is a fantastic school that continues to build as the student enters the workforce."

"The MA in Literature program is a great educational value that allows flexibility both in area of focus and in schedule while still providing the opportunity to study with accomplished (some tenured) professors. It is both affordable and excellent training for future academic or professional endeavors. The disadvantage would be that since it is a part-time program - a few Directors of Graduate Studies at various PhD programs informed me that they discount the strength of the program, but others are open-minded. After earning my MA in Literature, I received two admissions offers and was wait-listed at several other PhD programs."

"Pros include top rate faculty, coursework, and quality of School of Education programming and opportunities. The quality of education was very high and I feel well prepared for a faculty or research career. Other career paths are little supported by the faculty. Cons include unavailable faculty (i.e., some advisors have little time for their students), communication difficulties, and to an extent, little interaction between researchers or groups of researchers studying different topics (e.g., science education, technology education, literacy education, and cognitive sciences are very separate with little cross-talk outside of what is required by coursework)."

"The MS in Clinical Research at Northwestern University is an amazing program with incredible professors who are actually experienced in their fields. The challenging coursework coupled with the real world practical experience of my professors has helped me learn so much about a field that I am new in."

"Northwestern is a great school. There is a lot of faculty support and a lot of networking opportunities. The downside to any graduate school is the large workload."

"Pros: Very intelligent classmates. You will learn as much from them as from your teachers. Opportunities to develop friendship with people with very different backgrounds. Opportunity to learn new perspective. Cons: University can be more helpful with students affairs, financial aid, advising. Better orientation, and team building opportunities."

"Kellogg School of Management is providing a great way for me to develop into a world business leader. I can't imagine any other school providing the combined benefits in the same way that Kellogg does."

"I really enjoy the level of flexibility for MS BME students as far as course selection goes: you have the freedom to design your own curriculum based around your interests. There is a variety of BME courses that are great for exposure to theory and research in the field, and you are also allowed to pick and choose from the massive selection of design and project courses offered in other science and engineering departments. There are generous opportunities to interact with faculty and visiting speakers through regularly scheduled seminars, as well as with industry representatives through career panels and job fairs. While there are many positive aspects about the program, I do wish there was a push for more internal funding opportunities for MS students, considering the enormous cost of tuition; however, I am sure this issue is shared by most BME master's programs."

"The MSEB program is relatively new, so some kinks still need to be worked out. The coursework is highly focused on research skills. Most of the professor were skilled and effective."

"The CRRA program through the School of Continuing studies is great. Small class size, great schedule for working professionals, amazing teachers who really care about you and your education. Before even entering the program, I had an hour long talk over coffee with one of the professors about the program and how it will be beneficial for my career."

"Pros - Diverse base of students. Community feeling with strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration. Large and supportive alumni. Cons - Large student intake. Slightly offsite location in Evanston (which can be very cold!!). Strong focus on general management and consulting - may not be ideally suited for those looking for a career in finance"

"Northwestern is an amazing place to go to law school. The academic caliber of the faculty as well as the students far exceeded my expectations. Both professors and students genuinely seem interested in your success as a student and go out of their way to provide and inform you of opportunities at the school and for your career. If there is a con it is that the workload can sometimes be overbearing. While it's probably true at any law school, it seems that academic deadlines and professional (from NU) obligations seem to fall at the same time."

"In graduate school you can meet various people who are kind and willing to help. The education from supervisor and other research member is invaluable. Also, there are facilities that help you plan your career and support you all the way to it."
