"RED FLAGS. In regards to the Masters in Arts in Art Therapy and Marriage and Family Therapy, if you are looking for a program where standards are consistently high across all areas of learning, curriculum is current and designed thoughtfully and rigorously to prepare students, teachers are passionate and accountable for their duties, then LOOK ELSEWHERE. NDNU delivers an incredibly spotty and disappointing experience. Facilities are severely lacking - poor wifi connections, run down classrooms, child grade art supplies, zero air conditioning. Professors are inconsistent - a couple are excellent but most are disorganized, have low standards for achievement, or are too busy with other obligations beyond teaching (private practice, conducting research, writing books, etc.). The director of the program fails to stay abreast of student evaluations and student feedback that would alert her to making the program better, let alone hold the professors accountable for failing their teaching duties. They enroll some students that are not a good fit and some that are mentally unable to do the work but take their money anyways. Class offerings are limited, unflexible and cater to the professors schedules. Curriculum is out dated - you will not find coursework in cutting edge psychology practices from 1980 onward, with the exception of a mention of virtual reality. Curriculum is unduly weighted in the psychopathology model versus the wellness model. Research component is laughable - you will be required to write a thesis and conduct research without having proper instruction on how to do any of this. How does NDNU's Art Therapy program think that they are going to contribute to the field of Art Therapy by setting such low standards? Lastly, if you are an artist, you will be dumbfounded that they have stripped away the very things that naturally contribute to the therapeutic qualities of art making. The program assumes you will have knowledge of research methodology, which most art majors do not. Interview some recent graduates before you commit. Do not get sold by one of their admissions advisors. This program fails to deliver."

"NDNU offers a great practical program. While theoretical orientations are well covered, all of the professors have extensive clinical experience and integrate it well into their classes. The practical prientation really enriched the learning experience."

"The professors are incredible and give you a lot of knowledge about different clients you may have. You get to apply that knowledge fairly often in class such as how you would treat this client or what you think the underlying issue is. You are constantly gaining knowledge which is great."

"I enjoyed the small class sizes and the professors. The smaller program allowed for 1:1 feedback from the professors and ability to build relationships with both students and staff. Classes were very applicable to the profession and prepared students for the clinical exam. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience at NDNU for grad school!"

"The graduate program provides an opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and clinical case exposure from professors who are practicing clinicians. The program focuses on understanding the whole person in order to create genuine therapeutic relationships and successful treatment outcomes."

"The MS program of clinical psychology has much support from the faculty and staff there. They are on top of things and care a lot about the students they teach. Classrooms tend to be small and the professors always learn your name within a couple of meetings. Class usually hold great discussions about the readings assigned and tie it with everything related to the career of psychology. The down side is the cost of living in the Bay Area and there is hardly any help for graduate level students."

"Small inclusive program that really gives their all to assist us in anyway possible and make us feel like we matter and will succeed. I did my undergrad here and I'm taking no break. Continuing my education at NDNU is one of the best things I've decided to do. I just love the type of community and support they offer."

"What really distinguishes NDNUs psychology program from other graduate programs, is the sense of community and collaboration that the department offers. The Clinical psychology department as whole, values each individual student and what they have to bring and offer to the program that is unique. As networking is crucial for graduate students, NDNUs psychology department accelerates the networking process, as both students and professors are eager to collaborate with one another. In addition, all professors are working professionals in the filed which brings more real life perspectives into the classroom setting. Both students and professors are supportive, motivating, and unquestionably passionate about the field. Furthermore, NDNUs program doesnt just cater to one specific modality or therapeutic technique. Instead, the program provides knowledge on a wide variety of different views, modalities, and therapeutic interventions and techniques."

"Notre Dame de Namur provides a unique combination of welcoming diversity and academic rigor. As a person with a full-time day job, NDNU was a perfect fit because most of the classes are in the evenings and weekends. The orientation is eclectic in the modalities taught but with a strong leaning toward psychoanalytic understanding. Cross-cultural appreciation and community involvement are also stressed. My time at NDNU has been the most enriching time of my life. At age 50+, it's never too late to expand your career."

"The Professional Studies program was a great opportunity for a working adult. The classes were quick (7 weeks), it was hard work, but the small classrooms made it easier to connect with the professor, and the other students to create study groups. I would recommend this for any working adult who wants to have a college degree, but has a full-time job. The Human Services degree was a great 'all-around' degree, and although i am not in the non-profit world, the work and the learning's apply just as much to Corporate America. In fact, the Human Services classes have helped me navigate some difficult situations in the corporate world where one mis-step can have an impact on your career."

"The MBA program had a variety of business related insights from cloud technologies, accounting, consumer behavior to entrepreneurship classes which give the student a strong base on how to be versatile in a work environment. This type of information leads to lots of opportunities and holds a great future for any recent MBA grad."

"I grew so much as a person while I was in this program. It has helped me learn public speaking, cross collaboration with international and local students and gain valuable networking connections. "NDNU cares deeply about the students and ensuring they are doing what is necessary to succeed. Class sizes were small, professors were available for help, and classroom work was geared toward "doing business". Our professors were interested in addressing real skills that apply every day. They were also good at pushing us to a better analysis of whatever we were working on. The ability to apply critical thinking to business problems and opportunities and to go beyond a surface answer is a true interest of the NDNU faculty. These are skills that can be used while getting the degree and well after. Additionally, by applying the Hallmarks of the University to ethical considerations, the university ensures we have a broad understanding of how to act in business in ways that are of benefit to our organizations and to the broader world."

"I was part of the MBA program here at NDNU. Overall, I had a great experience and learned so much. The professor were very friendly, caring, and knowledgeable of their subjects. They showed that they were always willing to help and wanted you to succeed not only in class but also in the "real world." I would recommend this program to others because they challenge you to become a better critical thinker and to help you think outside the box in different scenarios related to the "real world.""

"The most important part in selecting an MBA program for me was class size. I wanted classes that were small enough to promote engaging discussions and a professor that knew me, what I was about, and how the material ties into my personal profession. At NDNU that is exactly what I got. The class environment promoted interactions between students, professors who knew you personally, and an overall environment that promoted growth. After my last class session in my MBA program, I walked out of my class and saw the professor I took my first ever class at NDNU. I walked into his empty class to say hi and we spoke for the next 10 minutes about the journey and what's next. Two years later, he remembered me, my story, my career path, goals, and how I'm continuing towards those goals. If that's not investment or interest in a student's success, I don't know what is."
