"As a graduate student at Oakland University, I did not spend much time on campus. Oakland accommodated my program and held classes at their satellite campuses which was very accommodating and much more convenient than driving out to Rochester. The professors all made themselves more than available to their students and really worked to ensure that their information was directly relevant and useful. The only downfall is that I don't think the department responsible for our curriculum realized the constraints facing a cohort of students that worked full-time. Many of our professors were shocked the first day of class to learn that we were all full time professionals. Many of the syllabi had to be adjusted to accommodate our situation but again, the professors were very understanding. Oakland U is a great university if its what works for you. It does not have a lot of national prestige but it is very applicable to the real world and cares about its students."

"The pros of my graduate school program is that it has what I needed and wanted. It offered me balance in my work and school life. The cons of my graduate school program is that I couldn't have picked a better University."

"I am so happy to study at Oakland University. There are some advantages for studying there. Job opportunities is one of the main advantage. The most disadvantage is not enough parking place."

"Oakland University offers a competitively priced Post-Master's Graduate Certificate program that is supported by knowledgeable and committed advisors. The PMGC in Higher Education is a sought-after program that isn't offered at many educational institutions. I feel fortunate that I have the opportunity to pursue this certificate at a highly accredited, affordable, conveniently located and safe environment."

"Pros: The ability to work with the faculty and have plenty of guidance from them and fellow students. A new lab, providing adequate space, and newer technologies are also positive. Well rounded, students must complete internships, and a thesis or cumulative test are necessary in order to receive the masters. All of the classes are in the evening during the fall and winter, which is good for working students, parents. Cons: As with all graduate programs, the cost in an issue. OU has been steadily increasing tuition since I was there during my undergraduate program."

"As a graduate student at Oakland University, I feel that they go above and beyond for the education of their students. The program offers both hands on and in class education and each of the professors I have met are empathetic to their students busy work schedules and family lives. They are willing to work with their students, without compromising the course work and objectives. To be honest, I would be hard pressed to reveal any negative thoughts about the program because I am genuinely pleased with the program. Although, I would say that it would be nice to have more gatherings for the students to meet and discuss the program."

"My graduate program is diverse, with students entering the program from all over the United States and other countries. I feel the faculty is diverse in their educational and career backgrounds. However, living on campus is fairly expensive and the student body is not very social because the campus is mostly commuters and older students."

"Oakland University's partnership with William Beaumont Hospital provides great networking opportunities. Student diversity lags behind the country's larger diverse population. Faculty and staff are responsive and receptive to feedback and conversation. Overall, a high-quality program."
