"I studied Elementary Education and feel that I received a solid background to give me what I needed in the classroom. My professors took time to help me understand material I found difficult and, during student teaching I had a wonderful supervising instructor who encouraged me to have thorough lesson plans and to enjoy the children."

"My four-year tenure at The Ohio State University were the best four years. The friends and professors I met continually challenged me to be the be better every day. Being a Buckeye is much more than football Saturday's. It's engrained in your soul. This campus engulfs with you with he beauty of what Columbus has to offer. The friendships I have made with my classmates and professors will last a lifetime."

"Great teachers, great classmates, beautiful campus, everything was told to me straight forward. Best years of my life. My son will be attending Ohio for sure, we come from a long line of Buckeyes! Since my grandma was a buckeye to me, love it there!"

"I loved my experience studying English at OSU! While many native Columbus residents were scrambling to submit their college applications to schools across the country, I knew I wanted to attend OSU. Living a few miles from this massive resource center my entire life, it just made good sense to explore the university's offerings from the inside out since I had explored its grounds via bicycling and frequent walks most of my life. During my time studying at OSU, we used a telephone portal called "Brutus Buckeye," named for the school's mascot, to schedule courses. My instructors, particularly those in my major program, were knowledgeable and happy to help students during class or during their appointed office hours. I lived at home while going to school, but my familiarity with the campus always allowed me to feel connected. At 45, I reflect on that time, realizing how great my experience was. The school has continued to grow; both in terms of student population and their dedication to designing exciting new buildings to accommodate students' needs for new space and resources. I still live in Columbus, and I feel confident recommending OSU to students just finishing high school and to anyone who would like to return to college as a non-traditional student. "

"My experience at OSU has been extremely positive. During my first year I received a fellowship that included summer funding and a bonus to be paid out over my first four years. This allowed me to focus on coursework rather than teaching and adjust to the demands of graduate school. After that I took fewer courses while teaching one undergraduate class per semester. My courses were generally focused and useful and there was good support for graduate teaching. My only issue was with the clarity of our degree requirements; certain of them changed within my department during my time there and it was hard to keep up.I was most enthusiastic about OSU’s funding for outside research and educational opportunities. During my time there I received support to travel to Rome, Oxford, and Toronto for various courses and conferences. The resources are excellent for graduate students in that way, as well as in terms of programming, with activities like quiz nights, cooking classes, and professional development events. I would encourage other students to look at my school."

"I thought it was a good school. I loved the environment and the sports teams always make it more exciting. The campus is large so you will definitely get a little workout in going to and from classes. Most people are working hard to achieve their education goals and it's a cool place to go!"

"Friendships with faculty from OSU have persisted over five decades. Through Dr. Eugene Ching I was able to teach English in China for a year in 1981-82. I was an OSU lifeguard and I'm swimming in my 70s. My geology classes became useful when I was stuck at the bottom of the Grand Canyon with a knee injury. Be aware that all college experiences/ friendships can enrich your life and follow you for decades."

"The level of support from the faculty and advisors is amazing and so much better that what I've seen at other universities. I also feel like I'm part of a community even though I'm just starting my program. Advisors/staff have always responded quickly to any questions I have. I've also been very impressed by the huge amount of organizations available for field practicum and the variety of concentrations/specializations to choose from. No matter what your primarily interest in social work is, you will find a specialization to suit your needs here. My only qualm is that I wish more financial aid were available, but this is a problem that seems to plague most underfunded social work programs across the country."

"The staff is very assessable and helpful. Networking with organizations within the school is great. The classes are together and can be accessed easily. Financial aid could be better but that's for most graduate schools throughout the nation."

"The campus is one of the largest by far and that means that whatever a student might need is most likely available in the vicinity. That is one of the pros. Alternatively, a large campus means everything from transportation to housing can be quite the hassle if you don't do your prepare yourself. That is one of the potential cons. As for the pharmacy program, what really needs to be said?..It is within the top 10 in the country and one of the most competitive. The research opportunities are endless due to the proximity to and collaboration with the James and Wexner medical complex."

"A pro of my graduate program is that it is very small, so there is a great outside network that has developed. When I will be looking for jobs this will be great. It also means that there is a lot more possibility for student involvement with professors. They are busy, of course, but with fewer students, access to teachers is great. They want to graduate students that will positively represent the program. However, welding engineering is a small field, thus it can be competitive when looking for a job.due to an overall smaller amount. People from the program graduate with a good reputation and generally land good jobs."

"In the most important regards, OSU's graduate program is second to none. From the earliest days of orientation, the curriculum has been theoretical, scholarly, and practical. Advisors check in multiple times per semester, and the peer group is supportive, encouraging, and offer advice on the unwritten aspects of graduate life. All faculty I've encountered have been friendly and helpful, even if I'm not "officially" a student of theirs (enrolled in their class or their advisee, etc). They're very aware of the problems facing academics, and they're optimistic and yet cautious about job possibilities after graduation. And they've got a great placement record! The largest con is being a graduate student at one of the biggest public universities in the world. The campus and surrounding areas is very undergraduate-oriented and very, VERY university-sports-y. But there are plenty of opportunities to avoid that world entirely. And there's lots else to focus on: arts, culture, great food, wonderful community, and super cheap cost of living."

"I graduated from OSU undergraduate with double majors in accounting and finance, which both rank around top 10 in the U.S.. I will graduate from OSU MBA with double majors in 2017. Pros: good business ranking, overall U.S. ranking, and overall world ranking; good location with many F 500 companies; Cons: too many students too many competitions; too big campus too much walk."

"The pros are the alumni and connections to important companies not only in Ohio, but in the United States and globally. The cons are there are no grants/scholarships through the school for part-time students."
