"The Ohio State University College of Human Ecology is a phenomenal foundation for higher education in enhancing human wellbeing through focus of physical activity and nutrition. I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. J.V., currently my mentor, and the team foundation of the Kinesiology Department and was welcomed with open arms. The advisors have been by my side since the beginning and have conducted my Path of Practice appropriately for my individual journey. I have learned a great deal through my curriculum and even more through each team member's specific research. "The Ohio State University is an institution that has provided me the tools to excel in any step I decide to take in life. Whether I join the workforce or further my education, I have attained skills that allow me to be independent, a leader and an innovator. As students, we are able to build relationships with advisors and professors; post graduation, they have always been available for mentorship. As a transfer student of this university, the Student Life department has assisted in connecting me with various organizations, both professional and recreational. "My fours years at The Ohio State University were arguably the best four years of my life. The campus, city, students, and staff all had the most school spirit and love for the school itself. Many of the core/general education classes were taught in big lecture halls with smaller "lab" classes at least once a week to get a more in depth explanation of what you a learning and a knowledgable Teaching Assistant that could work with you one-on-one to answer any questions. The English department specifically had extremely knowledgable and passionate teachers who mastered their specific content area and had a lot to offer to the students who were interested. The English department, however, did not specifically prepare you for any one job or content area, it was up to the student to find their path and navigate their own way to networking and job opportunities.Read Less"

"The opportunities are endless at The Ohio State University. From the diversity of students clubs to the unique classes, making Ohio State home is not hard, as long as you are willing to put in the effort! The university puts your education in your hands and expects you to take advantage of what they have to offer! The opportunities are there, as long as you are willing to work for them! I would not change my time at the university for anything. Becoming a buckeye is a way of life and with it, the experience and knowledge you gain here are irreplaceable!Read Less"

"I started as a pre-vet student, moved more towards research, then ultimately did a 180 and decided to go into education. That has nothing to do with the quality of my education, however. In fact, it gives me a bit of an outsider view, having spent much of my final year reflecting on OSU's animal science program. It really is one of the most rigorous and rewarding programs on campus. I feel that it was about as safe as any other large school, and the only real hit it takes is diversity. To be fair, I took most of my classes on west campus, which is probably a fair bit less diverse than the rest of OSU. Overall I would highly recommend OSU to anyone interested in pursuing work with companion or livestock animals. Just make sure to expose yourself to main campus.Read Less"

"OSU has a great Social Work Masters program, the instructors are usually great and care about the subject and students. They could use more clas options. The university itself can be a bit overwhelming since it is a huge institution and students have to find out things on their own most of the time. Overal, if you are looking for an affordable program in a large university I would recommend it."

"Ohio State is a school for students who wish to be challenged and have their ideas expanded. The professors are very knowledgeable about their topics and have passion for teaching students. The campus is large however can easily be made small by getting involved in clubs and extra activities with peers. Living on campus is very convenient as students are presented with everything they need: lots of food, grocery and retail stores, multiple gyms, friendly staff, and an endless amount of connections. Overall if you study smartly and get involved you'll have a great time here at The Ohio State University.Read Less"

"I am graduating from The Ohio State University this May of 2017. During my time at OSU, I have been exposed to thousands of student organizations and came in contact with many great campus leaders. Ohio State makes it easy for a student to get involved and get their voice heard. The only thing that I could say I really didn't like about Ohio State was the safety on and around campus. I never felt safe walking from class to my apartment at night, or walking anywhere after dark. This is something that I feel like they have the resources to improve, but also is a downfall of being in a big city - they're just inherently more dangerous. Overall, Ohio State had great professors who really seemed to be knowledgeable in their area, and gave students a lot of opportunities to exceed.Read Less"

"The Respiratory Therapy Program at Ohio State University prepares individuals for a career in respiratory care clinically, professionally, and personally. The directors hold our personal skills with patients and other professionals to as high of a standard as our clinical skills. Our access to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and affiliated institutions allows us to have resources from a variety of backgrounds that give us a well-rounded education as well as clinical experiences. For these reasons, I have decided to stay at Ohio State to pursue my Masters and a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner.Read Less"

"They offer an excellent curriculum if you are considering applying to vet school. I can not recommend their undergraduate courses in organic chemistry though. I would take these courses somewhere else and transfer the credits.Several community colleges have agreements with Ohio State to accept transfer credits. Worth investigating if interested in saving money"

"The Ohio State University offers many opportunities for all students, such as countless student organizations and ways to be involved. OSU becomes home to students from all across the world. Everyone takes pride in being a buckeye through our strong team spirit and fun atmosphere. Yes, the school is big, but that allows you to meet countless people and get involved in smaller organizations. I would not trade my time at OSU for anything!"

"The Ohio State University has impacted me in so many ways. From building lasting relationships to providing me with everything I need to earn my degree, OSU has made me feel at home from day one. Ohio State has prepared me for my career and challenged me to return to fulfill my doctor of dental surgery degree."

"The Ohio State University holds up to it's name, but it is still truly only what you make of it. You could go through your whole college career here and feel as if you learned nothing substantial and made no meaningful relationships just as you could anywhere else; but, if you put forth an earnest effort to get involved, truly seek to gain knowledge, and push your boundaries beyond your comfort ability, there is so much to be gained from this school. There are over 200 majors, 1,000 student organizations, and countless other ways to pursue your interests and passions. It can be hard at first to establish a community with so many students in one place, but with intentionality and seeking , the campus quickly becomes small and personal. With a school this size, students are offered nearly endless resources and opportunities, but sadly they are often not fully realized. I would encourage anyone about to attend OSU to do your best to fully understand and utilize the resources available to you as a student. Lastly, one must not overlook the actual City of Columbus, which is continually on the rise and is always surprising me with it's diverse art, food, and music scene, all while keeping it's midwest homeliness. I would highly recommend The Ohio State University to anyone who has a diverse range of interests and wants to be challenged in many different ways, both academically and personally.Read Less"

"The ISE B.S. program is broad and encompassing of all of the various areas that a graduate can pursue. It allows the opportunity to specialize for students who know where they want to work as well. Great professors, and pretty great learning facilities."

"The Ohio State University is a large institution with an incredible amount of opportunities. The size of the campus and classes can seem daunting, but the classes are divided up between teaching assistants to encourage more personal interactions and there are so many campus groups that you slowly start to form your own circle of people. However, I also enjoyed the ability to go to the gym or the library without seeing a lot of people that I knew, because I was able to fully focus on working out or studying. The coursework in my major was wonderful. The professors were passionate and taught their subjects well. I chose my major as a stepping stone into medicine (Physician Assistant) and I feel wonderfully prepared; I was accepted into 3 graduate programs on my first round of applications. The Ohio State University is able to offer you anything you could possibly be interested in (study abroad, extracurricular activities, research, creating a major, student employment, etc.), you just have to have the initiative to find those opportunities.Read Less"

"The Ohio State University is a special place to study. It has one of the biggest student bodies in the United States. When you see buckeyes around the country and even in the world, it makes you feel proud of your school. On the other hand, political science is an interesting major, by which you learn about how the countries with different political and cultural systems are governed. It helps you understand the way politics and economics work currently in the world."
