"Oklahoma City University had many great qualities, however, it also had many frustrating qualities. One of the main issues that I had with the school was the schedule of courses that were required for my major. As a dance major, I not only took dance classes, but I was also required to take regular academics. The issue here was that the dance school and the college itself clearly did not talk enough. I was required to take a certain amount of credits in jazz, tap, ballet, and etcetera. Many of my dance classes would conflict with my academics. In order to get all of my credits done in time, I either had to participate in a summer course through the school, or take the academics online and transfer them in. This was extremely frustrating. I was already taking out thousands in student loans to afford to go to this school. Then on top of that I began having to spend even more money to other colleges in order to receive my diploma on time. I believe that this was something that the school could have worked on. I believe that there should have been other ways to keep this from happening. It was not only a financial burden, but it also made everything extremely more stressful. I believe that any student who is looking into coming to Oklahoma City University should be aware that they will have to spend extra money by transferring in more credits to the school in order to graduate."

"The school of theater was a great place to learn and grow. I was able to pursue my major, as well as multiple minors within the SoT that fulfilled all of my interests. The professors were hands on, and extremely invested in their students. In addition, I was a four year member of the honors program, which was an excellent way to continue to be challenged academically throughout college. OCU is a great place for those wishing to pursue various interests, those wanting a challenge, those who like to overachieve, and those looking for a truly personal college experience."

"Oklahoma City University was the perfect school for me. I wanted somewhere to hone my creative skills and to allow me to mature while far away from home, but in a safe place. OCU was a 7-hour drive from my hometown, making it seem like a world away, but close enough to go home frequently. It's a small school and the academics were easy for an over-achiever for me, but the challenge in my major was enough. They are working on building a diverse student body. The teachers really care about their students, and there is a service learning aspect which is nice. The dance, music, law, nursing, and business schools are well-known."

"I received my Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University from 2008 to 2012. It is a very small campus with just over 4,000 total students in all departments. Due to the size, it becomes a very personal and hands on experience everywhere you go. I loved that I knew almost everyone I saw walking on campus, and that it did not take long to get from one place to another. Each department at this institution is exceptional, especially the performing arts schools. Whether it's music, acting, or dance, each department at OCU has the professors and opportunites to prepare any aspiring performer for work, immediately following graduation. You make a family at OCU, and those connections will serve you greatly long after you leave campus. Go Stars!"
