"Oregon Health & Science University is an excellent medical school with a variety of strengths and few weaknesses. Strengths include a very strong basic science research program, particularly in cellular biology and oncology, as well as excellent primary care education. Weaknesses include less support for students wishing to pursue highly competitive specialties."

"OHSU is an amazing school with a progressive curriculum and truly cares about it's students. The best part about YourMD is the ability the curriculum has to adapt and change with the student's needs and wants. Ease of transport to and from campus makes attending classes feasible for people who live all over the city but they also have an online component to re-watch the lectures or just stay home and watch the lectures from home."

"OHSU is a fantastic medical school. The school is renowned for its education of primary care physicians, and is rapidly becoming a first-rate research institution. The school is currently in a transition phase. Next year the school will be moving to a new state-of-the-art building on Portland's South Waterfront. This move will be accompanied by a radical change in the medical school curriculum. The curriculum is designed to reflect the changing way that we provide medical care in america: a team-based approach. The tuition at OHSU is outrageously high. In the end it is worth it, though. Doctors make enough money to pay down those student loans."

"Great faculty, great opportunities for learning especially throughout the state. Maybe becoming a bit disconnected from the rest of the state care-wise, not as worried about filling the primary care needs as they used to be, but overall good education."

"An excellent program altogether. They are in the midst of a curriculum overhaul, so I don't know how much my comments will help future students, but the current program is very good. The workload is challenging but manageable. One of the perks is the fact that you see patients in clinic from the first year onward. You also will be working with world-renowned physicians due to the reputation of OHSU's hospital. You also may have the opportunity to work at the Portland VA, Shriner's Children's Hospital, and Doernbecher Children's Hospital. An excellent place to get a medical education."

"The faculty are excellent, and many of our course directors are very attentive to student concerns and truly care about getting us an excellent education. Their passion for their subjects and our learning are amazing and inspiring. On the other hand, we generally feel unsupported by the dean's office, the cost is outrageous, especially for a public university and we don't feel like anyone's really working with us to help fix that. We don't feel that the office of Student Affairs and Services has any idea what is going on - they tell us to come to them with all concerns, and then can't help with simple information/tasks that are sometimes quite important."
