"Oregon Health & Science University is an excellent medical school with a variety of strengths and few weaknesses. Strengths include a very strong basic science research program, particularly in cellular biology and oncology, as well as excellent primary care education. Weaknesses include less support for students wishing to pursue highly competitive specialties."

"OHSU is an amazing school with a progressive curriculum and truly cares about it's students. The best part about YourMD is the ability the curriculum has to adapt and change with the student's needs and wants. Ease of transport to and from campus makes attending classes feasible for people who live all over the city but they also have an online component to re-watch the lectures or just stay home and watch the lectures from home."

"Pros: 1. Most knowledgeable and very supportive faculty 2. Learned knowledge and skills from my program already could be applied to my current job 3. The classrooms were conveniently located. 4. The program was designed for working professionals like me. 5. Each course was challenging, and held my interest. The online lectures and the readings were very helpful. The face to face sessions were interactive, the guest lecturers were perfect. 6. Overall, the program is very stimulating and thought-provoking. Cons: 1. The technical aspects like the power point projector didn't work sometimes."

"OHSU is a fantastic medical school. The school is renowned for its education of primary care physicians, and is rapidly becoming a first-rate research institution. The school is currently in a transition phase. Next year the school will be moving to a new state-of-the-art building on Portland's South Waterfront. This move will be accompanied by a radical change in the medical school curriculum. The curriculum is designed to reflect the changing way that we provide medical care in america: a team-based approach. The tuition at OHSU is outrageously high. In the end it is worth it, though. Doctors make enough money to pay down those student loans."

"Great faculty, great opportunities for learning especially throughout the state. Maybe becoming a bit disconnected from the rest of the state care-wise, not as worried about filling the primary care needs as they used to be, but overall good education."

"An excellent program altogether. They are in the midst of a curriculum overhaul, so I don't know how much my comments will help future students, but the current program is very good. The workload is challenging but manageable. One of the perks is the fact that you see patients in clinic from the first year onward. You also will be working with world-renowned physicians due to the reputation of OHSU's hospital. You also may have the opportunity to work at the Portland VA, Shriner's Children's Hospital, and Doernbecher Children's Hospital. An excellent place to get a medical education."

"Pros: 1. Very accessible faculty and mentor ship opportunities 2. Very strong Family Medicine Department 3. Lots of clinical practice and opportunities 4. Amazing surrounding city and area! Cons: 1. School does not use a lot of technology in its courses. If you want to podcast your classes and access online learning materials, you will not find much of this at OHSU. If you like showing up to class and interacting with students and teachers in person, this is actually a pro, as the lack of technology leads to higher attendance and student communication"

"The faculty are excellent, and many of our course directors are very attentive to student concerns and truly care about getting us an excellent education. Their passion for their subjects and our learning are amazing and inspiring. On the other hand, we generally feel unsupported by the dean's office, the cost is outrageous, especially for a public university and we don't feel like anyone's really working with us to help fix that. We don't feel that the office of Student Affairs and Services has any idea what is going on - they tell us to come to them with all concerns, and then can't help with simple information/tasks that are sometimes quite important."
