"They have an excellent male instructor who gives great lessons and career advice and Director of the program that really cares about the students and the nursing field. A couple of AWESOME clinical instructors that are patient. The practical nursing program is a little disorganzed but manageable. They are CHEAP only supplying one set of uniforms for a 15month program. Its a good option to enter the nursing field. The curriculum is demanding but can be handled by a focused and determined student! Its worth the money if you are encountering long wait list for other 2year options or you are a non-traditional student in limbo. It works for me and for you as long as you take responsibility for your education."

"After reading all the reviews given, I felt it is my duty to take up for Prism. I attended a six month course at Prism Career Institute, and it was great. After earning a 3.75 GPA I was sent to an externship site that was looking to hire 2 new employees. I was told that they would only send people to externship sites that were looking to hire, if those student were good students who weren't about the B.S. always in class and on time, never disrespectful, and would do well in a work environment. I was ultimately hired at my externship site, and was employed there until 2011 when I was laid off. I was out of work for only two weeks when I got another job in my field. All of these people who had bad experiences with Prism, is probably because they went there and acted like they had no home training, disrespected the instructors, and really didn't care about the outcome of their education. Prism took me from working in a casino, making $9.50 an hour to sitting behind a desk in an important position making $13.00 per hour. Even after I was laid off, I went to see the Job Placement coordinator who had me back at work in less than a month. Yes some of classes I took didn't teach me what I needed to know. But there are some things you have to learn on the job, some things you will never understand until you experience them. I can say that Medical Terminology is a very important factor that I picked up at Prism, something I use everyday, and wouldn't be able to do my job without. If you apply yourself and can be seen as an individual who is dedicated and hardworking Prism will most likely work out for you."

"My insights? Really as if there's enough space here to actually file a legitmate complaint or have a real revivew of a school that's another for-profit. Granted the school is in fact what you make. You get what you put into it, but if show up on time dressed to the nines and there's no teacher while they stress a particular dresscode that students causally ignore well, aren't you in luck. Where do I even begin? Let's I'm sitting in class again wtih no teacher. Oh yeah she has jury duty and can't attend class today so she left an assignment that we've to work on while she's away. Don't know what it is because it's not my job to track down the teacher in charge currently in charge of her class during her absence. That's right, I've no idea where the acting teacher is. And they wonder why I'm always late for school. This "institution' is a joke. I feel really bad for the students that give a damn about the student well being because those are the only teacher that matter. All the others are just fillers. The real teachers at prism offer there services beyond the classroom. I've been in for numerous tutoring sessions because of the lemons I have during the day. A simple note on the door about where to pick said assignment would have been way too courteous for this teacher who constantly brags about here MBA she reaceived in nineteen seventy-whatever. High education means informing you student of the assignment on the same day it's due. Not leaving the majority of you class to rot in the computer lab on a hot day. (the computer lab has no AC and only half of the computers available have internet access. Luckily, I found one today. I found out today that the majority of day students will have to get up even earlier to comply with the Dept. of Education's new standards for Vocational School. New day hours are 8:15am-3:00pm if you're a single parent with kids this is not for you. If you're a student who wants to just pass and avoid the drama of kissing you know what to pass, this is not the school for you. If you follow all the rules of this school. This is NOT the place for you. I continue to write reviews on this website until something about this school changes. The good teachers shouldn't have to struggle neither should the students who are paying a wopping 31k for lackluster education."

"Prism Career Institute NEEDS to be shut down. I regret going there and I should have done way more research. This school is a RIP-OFF. It is a waste of money and time. They are not there to teach you and get you ready for a career. They are there to collect tuition and s as many people as they can. They say these are accelerated courses but there is nooooo way you can learn ALL you NEED to learn in 8 DAYS!! It's not ideal; especially in the medical and paralegals fields. I advise everyone to RUN AWAY from this sorry excuse for a school and more specifically the Upper Darby campus. They are unprofessional, unorganized, and they have no remorse for the trouble they have caused those that enrolled under the impression they were receiving an education. BEWARE!! WARNING!! CAUTION!! PRISM CAREER INSTITUTE SUCKS!!!!"

"Horrible experience. Only 1 or 2 good instructors. Insufficient clinical experiences. Insufficient air conditioning in the summer. Disorganized."

"How is this school still in existence? I attended there two years ago....I am currently looking for work because the place they send you to for work is usually someone who is on thier way out. Can't believe I paid so much and still owe a student loan!!!!! for nothing."

"I have going to this for a while and I hate the adminstration. I have a son and attend night classes. I applied for a refund check for day care. After 3 months I called my school and they kept saying I was approved. I called the cherry hill campus and they told me it was never processed!!! I hate the ppl in adminstration and the front desk. Dont go to this rip-off school! I am just getting a certificate and I am paying 16,000. wow."

"I went to this school because it was a good location and it was very nice. I was excited to go there because I thought it could push me into the medical field. However, it did the complete opposite. For the first 2 months we (my class and I) typed on a computer. From 6-10pm all we did was learning to type. For me and half of the other students in the class this was a waste of time. Reading from a book and typing however many words per minute didn't seem to relevant to the job/education. Also, there was a time when there wasn't a teacher for us. They either quit or just called out. We were supposed to take a 20 min lunch break from 7:30-7:50pm that turned into a 2 hr lunch break. They didn't teach and when they did it was more about what they were doing this weekend rather then what we should be learning. One teacher, Mrs Beilecki was one of the teachers out of the 10 that actually did teach and did care. We only had her for a short period of time though. It was so stressful to know this is taken up so much time and we are learning nothing. I was "supposed" to graduate in March 2009 but then it got changed to July 2009 and no one contacted me and no letters were sent out to me so I never actually walked down the isle. They don't help you with job placement. I know many people that have had the same problem as me and my fellow class members. I DO not recommend this school to anyone."

"I can't stress enough just how HORRIBLE this school is!! I am soooo embarrased to say that I went there. I could list 100 reasons why not to go here"

"I attended evening classes at Prism Carrer Institute. I really don't have anything positive to say about the experience. As far as attendance - people come late and sign in as if they have been there the entire time, and while staff and administration are aware of this, I sign in and out for my truthful hours and end up staying 3 months longer than the rest of my class so I can make up hours. Rediculous! Just so they can say my butt was in the seat! We went through several teachers, and were at one point without a teacher for about a month, but again, our butts must be in those seats, even if we aren't being taught. I elected not to have the school help me find a job that I simply am not prepared for. The director of the school asked me why I didn't have interest anymore, to which I replied, " I do not feel as though the education I received here is sufficient enough to go out into the work field and feel competent about what Im doing." The reply.."Where ever you get a job, you have to learn the way they do things." so, I ask...why am I going to end up paying over $20,000 to go and learn on my own. Total waste of time and definately a waste of money. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this school to anyone. All I want is my money back....we all know that won't happen."
