"The School Counseling graduate program at Purdue University Calumet has wonderful professors who are passionate about the field. Often the classes are a combination of Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling however it has not posed to be problematic."

"Purdue Calumet is a fantastic school for graduate programs. The Marriage and Family Therapy program is one of the best in the country and it shows. The workload is extremely intense, but so is the payoff. This program offers its graduate students opportunities to teach undergraduate courses, do research, and see clients while still in training. The only negative aspect of this program is the location. The crime rate is higher than most cities, and it shows. Overall, however, this is a fantastic school and I would not want to be anywhere else."

"One of the greatest advantages of continuing my education at Purdue University Calumet is the availability of the professors and the Graduate School Counselor. They have worked with me to ensure that I achieve my academic and professional goals. My counselor has suggested classes that work around my work schedule and I have received e-mails regarding employment opportunities for PUC students. These are just a few things that make pursuing an education at Purdue University Calumet worthwhile. The only disadvantage is transportation. The transportation system in the area has experience cut backs ;therefore, making it more challenging for non drivers to get to campus. Hopefully this will be resolved in the near future."

"Even though it is a regional branch of Purdue University, the school has an excellent group of faculty members in the English and Philosophy department. The faculty are all very active in their fields and they encourage their students to be just as active. The faculty also bring a range of study to the program, which provides students with several options as they decide what research direction to pursue for themselves."

"Purdue Calumet campus is affordable and close to home. I am able to continue my current job at a school, and be a mother and wife while going back to get my Master's Degree. I have not seen any cons to this program thus far."

"If you are working full-time as I am, I would not suggest taking more than 2 graduate classes at once. The workload is a great deal heavier than Undergraduate classes and more is left to the individual student to learn on their own. Luckily, most professors realize that we have other responsibilities and therefore do not force those unable to work in groups to do so. It creates more of an individual workload but for those of us with limited free time, it is an added plus. Another plus is the amount of classes that are offered online via distance learning. It is much easier to be able to log in when I have time than to spend an entire evening in class once or twice a week."
