Remington College Reviews
Student & Graduate Reviews (82)
When I went in to my "interview" they were telling me everything I wanted to hear. Yes, everything seemed to good to be true. I guess you can say that it's my fault for believing them, but I was young, and I think they used that to their advantage. Straight up they told me I would only pay 10 grand of the 30 grand tuition because I qualified for financial aid. They told me I wouldn't have trouble finding a jib when I graduated. WRONG. And they also told me that if I wanted to get my Nursing degree right after I can easily transfer my credits. BIG LIE! There is no one here that take Remington credits. That school is full of lies. All they care about is trapping a student in and sucking the money out of them.
I attended Remington College, and just graduated in October. When I first visited the school I thought I was doing the best thing, being that it only took 9 months and I thought for sure that I would be getting certifed in a career that would pay very well. All the instructors told us we shoudld expect at least $13/hr which I thought was pretty descent,Well not only did almost every instructor we had get fired but some of them seemed uneducated and they made the work so easy that you really didnt learn anything.
And just to let anyone considerin medical assisitng know, most jobs only want to start you out around $8/hr with a certification and no experience, thats close to minimum wage and $2/hr less than what i mkae at my current job,so this MA diploma isnt going to get me anywhere,If I had known this when I signed up,I would'nt have,Now I realize it was a waste of my money and I'm now looking into getting my degree in nursing,at another school of course!
And not to mention that we constantly got mixed information about everything while we were in school,my whole class was mad and very uspet that they chose remington because they were'nt getting what they paid for,And when we needed to find out about important information, each member of the faculty had a different answer or would tell each student something different,so we were always confused on everything,it seemed the faculty and teachers really didnt know what was going on.Im not trying to downgrade the school,Im just passing on my experience and I've got the other 13 students that were in my class that feel the same way.please do your research before you make a decision!
The teachers make fun of their students go weeks without teaching/lecturing. One mod my teacher lectured one time total. When you need help from someone they are always in "meetings", not available, don't return your calls or send you in a run around with no help.
I went there, after i was approved they told me i didnt even have to go to school for the program i went for, and they couldnt help me find a job, its dramatic, and the worse school i have ever attended.
Attending Remington was the worst mistake I have ever made in my entire life. All they care about is money. I attended two mods before figuring all of this out. They are unproffesional, rude, and they act as if you don't matter. They can't keep their instructors, they is a very high turn over rate. Schools like this shouldn't be allowed to operate.
This school is terrible they will pass people no matter what. I have requested a refund because I had to stop my education for personal reasons and they shut the campus down when I was able to go back they are no longer in California. They are spending a lot of energy to not respond and pass me off to the next person to try to avoid dealing with it.
I wished I had read these reviews before I found myself thousands of dollars in debt with a certification I can't even use. I graduated in Dec 2007 and have yet to find a job in medical transcription.
To get this certification I worked full time, went to school full time and graduated with a 3.58. So I was not a slacker. I wanted a better life for myself. Instead I'm working in a factory and will be paying student loans for the next 20 years for something I can't use.
Yes there are medical jobs out there, but they all want experience and won't talk to you unless you have it. The "office" that is suppose to help you find a job is a joke. All I got from them were job fairs to attend. Which I found myself in the paper and looking online. After a couple of months I never heard from them again.
I enrolled in remington college ma program i found the school to be horrible not only are the teachers not qualified but director plays like she cares so much until your three months have passed and u cant get a refund.
the recruiters will hound u to get u in but once the money is paid you will see a different side. i am not a slacker i attended class and had a 4.0 gpa. please go to a real college or university this place is a joke.
