"I would not recommend this college to others because there is no guidance in classes that meet requirements for graduation."

"Roosevelt is a place that is inclusive and guided by a powerful mission of social justice. I have perceived that everyone is truly committed to this goal. The faculty and staff are knowledgeable of the subject-matter and have been effective in making me feel like part of the community. However, I feel that the location results in tuition amounts that are difficult to be met. I find myself struggling to meet the financial demands."

"I felt that the school could have been more supportive during the practicum search. Although I got into one, a few people did not after being promised they would be placed into a site. It prolongs gradutation date if you do not secure a site so having them help out would be easier. Classes were ok, some professors refused to use technology which was a bit annoying."

"The program I am enrolled in at Roosevelt is intensive and very comprehensive. Instruction has been excellent so far. I am unable to fully comment on factors such as "network" and "social life" because I am new to the university and Chicago area and do not have extensive free time outside of class. I do however see many posters advertising student events which look fun!"

"The greatest strength of my graduate program at Roosevelt University is the knowledge, accessibility, and patience exhibited by all of the faculty. I can say with confidence that every single faculty member will go out of her or his way to ensure that every student understands the subject material. The greatest weakness of my graduate program is the lack of funding available. While there is partial funding for the first year, it is not comparable to other graduate programs in the same specialization."

"Pros: - Heavy emphasis on social justice - Generally friendly staff and faculty - Size is small enough to know almost all the people in your cohort by name Cons: - Doesn't offer morning classes...not getting out of class until after nightfall in downtown Chicago - No "campus" feel, just a couple buildings a few blocks apart downtown - High cost of living in Chicago...affordable housing (< $700/month) will likely mean a 25-45 commute by train"

"The MA in I/O Psychology program at Roosevelt University is challenging and competitive as it gave me the opportunity to explore the field of I/O Psychology. The professor's are engaging and passionate about their subject matter and they evoke a similar passion in their students. Help and support are readily available to students through consultations with the professors as well the career center. Overall, I have found my experience at Roosevelt to be satisfying."

"Roosevelt, while not my first choice for getting my Master's degree Industrial/Organizational (IO) Psychology has come to surprise me over the last year there. The student diversity and passion I have encountered, alongside the professionalism and care that faculty provide were far greater than I had originally expected. Administration and supportive services however, are an enigma of inefficiency. There are many departments understaffed and using preforming poorly in their support functions. Administration does well with upholding certain values and parts of their mission (social justice within the context of diversity) whilst failing on others (poor recycling/sustainability efforts and poor paid employees). The undergraduate programs fall most victim to these peculiarities. The I/O program meanwhile, and most of the graduate school, while not immune stands far away from the odd, Roosevelt specific issues often plaguing undergrads (expensive dorms, chronic issues registering for classes, and "the purge" wherein unpaying students are locked out of the university system)"

"My graduate program offers curriculum that truly prepares students for the career field of psychology. The internship opportunities help train students regarding application of theories, learning how to incorporate different counseling techniques and providing services for clients."

"Teachers were excellent. They genuinely cared about your education and success. My only con is that there was little to no funding towards my program. I wound up taking out student loans in order to pay for school."

"Great teachers! Very responsive to students. They go above and beyond in every way to help students. Only con I can think of is it's a commuter school, so even though a lot of events are held on campus and off campus, not a lot of students stick around to socialize."

"The material required by the program covers everything that will be on the licensure exam and more. The professors are helpful and really know their material. They do a great job being available to talk to students and help them out. This school also provides a good amount of practicum sites. The only problem I have is the disorganization they have with registration."

"I feel that Roosevelt is a very competative program. They offer support when needed. I feel that they lack support when individuals attend school part time."

"Pros: Great location! Very knowledgeable and accessible faculty. Diverse student body. The university has developed great ties to the community, thereby strengthening employment chances post-graduation. Cons: A bit pricey."
