Rowan is a great and warm school in southern New Jersey. I was challenged academically as a STEM major, however, the extracurricular opportunities I was offered at Rowan are what helped me stand out as a candidate in the post graduate world. Through student clubs and compassionate advisors I formed a solid and well rounded base with great interpersonal and leadership skills many others did not have.
Academics were okay. Some professors really cared while others were clearly riding that sweet tenure wave. While I learned a fair amount, I didn't get enough real world experience either. However, I can't recommend this school based on living conditions. There is no parking for commuters and there's a lack of housing. As time went on, more crime would happen as I would get weekly e-mail notifications about a burglary, assault, or other violence. The wifi is pretty bad as well, and this hurts when you have an assignment due that needs to be turned online. There are not enough sections for junior/senior level classes, so I took a few courses that I did not care for either.
Rowan was a great community, with caring professors. Staff was available when you needed them and there was always an event to attend.
I enjoyed all my professors and they all had a very good understanding of the subject matter. Also the campus life was very enjoyable. I usually suggest Rowan to all my friends thinking about going to school for public relations.
The school was fine, i learned a lot and there were always things to do around campus, but I got very little help for post college job searches. I still do not have a job in my field.
I completely enjoyed my 4 years at Rowan University. Challenging program, helpful/caring/knowledgeable professors. Great programs from sports, clubs to the great Rec Center. They helped place me in an internship which offered me an immediate employment opportunity upon graduating. Which gave me options when applying for a great job I took in central jersey. 10/10 would do again.
Rowan was a great place for me. Its a medium campus, so you can still walk everywhere without knowing everyone who goes there. Most of my professors were great and i had some amazing experiences there. I would recommend looking into study abroad. The downside is that the advisors are not all helpful.
Loved the helpfulness of the teachers and the graduate community. The cafeteria was awesome too!
Rowan University is a great school. The campus is beautiful and in a great location. The school continues to grow and there was a lot of new stuff being built when I left in 2013. My professors were all knowledgeable and helpful and the campus has resources for anything you might need. I was a commuter and most of my classes were in the evening so I had no problem with parking, but I did hear it was tough to find a spot earlier in the day. I would recommend Rowan to anyone; it was a wonderful experience for me.
