"As someone who already works in the industry, I signed up purely to get the piece of paper, so I was under no disillusion of what I was getting myself into. Still, I wasn't prepared for the overpriced nonsense that was to follow. For those curious, this was the "Business Analytics" graduate degree program which included "data mining" and "data science" concepts. 1) The entire curriculum is obsolete - introduced concepts from the 90's as if they were new (OLAP, Visual Basic). Also, is spending multiple weeks talking about the difference in primary key vs foreign composite keys really helpful in the real world? 2) The professors are low quality - the 1 hour spent teaching regression was taught incorrectly because the professor was ignorant to the mathematical concepts. Some professors barely care. All professors just go through the motions, setting up hoops that you need to jump through, but none of it really contains what I'd call content. Also, when I downloaded a copy of the syllabus to submit for tuition reimbursement, the metadata in the document showed that the the author was actually a different professor from Villanova. Would that violate their own academic honesty policy? 3) No systems support - when it came time for the 2 weeks of learning hardtop, neither the professor nor the school knew exactly how the technology worked, so students simply submitted screenshots of error messages as proof that they tried. Poor professor was left with zero support of how to setup a hadtop platform. 4) Blackboard & Alecks platforms - enough said I'd write more, but I have to get back to posting my required 450 word per week "discussion" over in the class forums that's worth 30% of my grade."

"The program was extremely productive, and the staff was helpful every step of the way. I was able to complete my courses online and did the work at my convenience."

"some professors are terrible. Some classes were merely the professor reading the powerpoint slides that came with the book."

"The pros of this program is it is uses a new software program for each of the courses. Showing you business intelligence has many tools. Video, power points and collaborate classes help teach these new software well. A con could also be a pro, but the program is accelerated because each course is 8 weeks and you go into the next course while you do your final exam or project. There is only a winter break."

"Small class sizes and instructors that are very responsive (usually get a response within a couple of hours, even on weekends). The program has good value in a field that is up-and-coming. Wide selection of students from many different career fields. My only concern is that, so far, there hasn't been a large amount of interaction between students."

"On-line classes allow for flexibility in schedule but does not give a feel for the actual campus life."

"I recently started this grad program, and couldn't not be more pleased. It is the first MS in BIA program that is offered entirely online. In addition to completing your degree, you also receive your certification in SAS Business Intelligence software. The academic counselors are really on top of everything. They schedule your classes, personally email your your booklist, and make sure you are on track every step of the way. If you have a busy work schedule or a hectic family life, this is a huge bonus because you never have to worry that you're are forgetting something. I look forward to learning all I can and getting the most out of what Saint Joseph's University has to offer."

"The online portion of the program is great to have due to the flexibility. Working a full time job with other responsibilities makes obtaining the degree online easier to achieve."

"I am mainly taking courses online and I love that the professors are still holding virtual classes allowing for easy communication and teaching of the material. I am still getting the same education I would receive if I attended classes on campus but this is much more convenient for my work schedule."

"This is a wonderful program as it is tailored to my career needs. The classes are very interesting and the professors are always willing to assist the students. There are a lot of students from around the world so you get to learn from different cultural perspectives. Plus you get to participate in a Study Tour and learn about another country and its businesses I would definitely recommend this program to anyone interested with an international twist."

"My program offers a diverse content for studying that encourage both technical and logical thinking development. Student workload is suitable with ability and cover enough knowledge as well as real time situation. It provides highly practical application in real working environment. However, the connection and activities to support student career opportunities seem not good enough. The courses designed a little obsolescent when requires student to take math class even if that student earn high GMAT score. The courses waived is unreasonable for some international students and do not account for some global credential such as CFA certificate."
