"Pros: --I am able to personalize my clinical rotations to my particular interest. --In a small, private setting like this it is easier to contact professors and administrators with questions or concerns. --Accelerated programs allow you to start your career faster, and surround you with high-achieving individuals like yourself to keep you challenged. --Students graduating from this program have a good professional reputation in the community Cons: --This program makes it difficult to work as an RN prior to becoming an FNP --Tuition is very high, and the school has very few scholarships available"

"Overall this is a great school. The faculty are very willing to help you in any way they can. The school only scored low on safety because it is in Oakland, and if you go off too far in a couple of directions the area can become less than pristine. Also, I would like to point out, I'm in the Physical Therapy program, not "Public Health." There was no option for PT and no option for "other" as was suggested I choose."

"MD was simply the closest option, I actually attended their podiatry program, much of which overlaps MD coursework with emphasis on the foot and ankle. Graduates of the program receive a DPM degree. This degree doesn't help at all if you're one of the 15% - 20% who don't get a residency, because there is no way to get a job without a license. There has been a residency shortage the last few years which will be fixed eventually, but you don't want to be one those who are waiting for it to get fixed. Podiatry is a fulfilling career once you get into practice."

"I love my graduate program! It's a highly competitive nursing program that I was lucky enough to get in to and is preparing me for my role as a RN and a Family Nurse Practitioner. The faculty are so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. My classmates have become my family and we're one huge support group and encourage each other to do our best."

"I am in the Podiatry Program at SMU. I absolutely love this school. The curriculum is very rigorous, but we have 100% of the faculty support. They are very understanding and are WILLING to work with you, which is very important. In addition, the school actually value your inputs. They constantly asked us for our feedback and make changes according to improve the school and the teaching environment for everyone."

"This is an excellent university and an excellent program. The school is small, which means intimate class sizes. But unfortunately that means that the administration is a bit lax. Don't be surprised if some things change last minute."
