"It's a nice school and relatively inexpensive. It's located in the heart of san diego and is beautifully constructed. The course work depends on your interests but is generally pretty good and matches industry standard within couple of years."

"SDSU was a great place to go, but as a football player I wish more students would have taken interest in our team. Support definitely grew as we did better, but that stadium should be near full more often, not just Bowl Games or the firework show. Watch out for the "career" professors; the best professors there are the ones who have done something else in their life (ran a business, lawyer, stocks, etc) that you REALLY learn something from. I'm glad the majority of my professors didn't shoce liberal agendas down our throats like many that I hear about."

"I believe this program has a strong and well-established reputation. The faculty is professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Even with such a large campus the department still feels small and tight knit. There is a rising trend in digital humanities which will help students stay competitive for employment and advanced programs that will strengthen their future."

"The pros are the amount of effort into providing research training and immersion. The cons are the surrounding area and the lack of community on campus for older students."

"Very professional and hands on with research. Great staff and professors who are highly knowledgeable. Great availability to network and gain internships for a job after graduating. Not a ton of money in the program for new lab equipment."

"This program just got rated top 10 in the nation. The professors are amazing and very helpful and the course load is not bad. You get a lot of hands on experience."

"My experience at this institution was a positive one overall because I learned so much about not only direct practice skills but also, mental health. I was a part of an exceptional mental health training program that broadened my knowledge about this particular field and which, has helped me thrive in my current employment. In regards to the cons, I think the program could have focused a little more on our unequal social systems and policies that produce the social inequalities of our society. This would therefore encourage the student population to be active agents of change and aspire to make a real structural change in society that will therefore improve the livlihoods of our surviving populations."

"The graduate program in which I am currently enrolled in is is great for students who work full time. Classes are in the evening and ALL classes are eminent on providing accommodations for all who is in need. The professors are are extremely available to assist students. The program highly encourages networking which benefits the students' future career outcome. Financial aid is minimal as there is not much financial aid available to graduate students in general. I have met life long friends through my graduate students and amazing connections for future professional references."

"The MBA program at SDSU is a top notch program with great professors. I wish they had a little more diversity in who taught each class, just to give students a chance to learn from different styles. Overall, the program is great and the people I met have become great friends and contacts."

"I think it is an affordable program. The classes are not offered at the best times and therefore one must be able to make school a full-time priority and working is not easy."

"SDSU's DPT program has professors that are experts in their respective fields. The Director of Clinical Education (who will be responsible for placing you in your clinical affiliations) is one of the most well-connected people in the San Diego (maybe even California) physical therapy world. Living in San Diego is expensive, but there are ways to make it very affordable and many classmates live together. Public transportation is outstanding to and from SDSU. Finally, several physical therapists have commented about the overall higher quality of students coming from SDSU's DPT program. All in all, I never expected to get such an incredible experience and education from a public school that's charging a fraction of the tuition of other schools in the area."

"Despite what I say, I'm glad that I went to San Diego State University. It was a great experience that made me friends for a lifetime, with a beautiful campus that I enjoyed, within a city that's wonderful to live in. However, as an educational institution, the school has many problems serving the needs of its students. Due to budget cuts (which most schools are facing in times like these) many classes were cut or unavailable during my four years at SDSU, with more disappearing as the years went on. The race for registering classes was a brutal one, and budget cuts also made it increasingly difficult to get into your desired major (as it made it more competitive, because of being "impacted"). I had several teachers that I will remember and cherish as being extremely helpful and intelligent...and many more that were quite the opposite. However, the instructor reviewing system at the end of each semester is designed to address the concerns of students, and everyone I knew took that as an opportunity to describe why their professors failed as educators. In short, the school as very little money. With what money it does have, it builds million-dollar "student centers" (which was literally being built my entire four years there) instead of addressing dwindling classes and teachers. The two majors that I had were very different, but they were both competent. The English department is fine, and the TFM department is beginning to make a name for itself within the film school world."

"SDSU was a really good school both in the classrooms and with any leisure activities. The school spirit there is incredible and Aztecs really stick together. A majority of the professors are really helpful and are flexible with their office hours to help students. Getting involved and going to events are what will really make your experience there a good one !"

"The rehab counseling program at SDSU is rated in the top ten programs. I love my program because the faculty and staff are all amazing. My cohort is extremely diverse and I love interacting with everyone. I am happy with my decision to join the program. Even though I love the program, sometimes we are given some assignments that I really do not see the point to. That is the only con, because I love the program."

"I believe the strengths of my program are in the quality the professors and the expectations that they have for their students. The workload can get pretty heavy at times, but if you have good work ethic you can keep up. However, I wish they payed a little more attention to mentoring. Being as the university is small, I can understand the deficiency in time alotted for guiding and talking with students."

"Excellent preparation for a career in scientific research. Really puts psychology into perspective in which the program helps to develope confidence for career goals. Is helpful in allowing myself and others to become researchers worthy of contributing to science and the current literature. Graduate school is expensive."
