"I thoroughly enjoyed my time at South Texas. Three of the best years of my life. Graduated in 1991. I would do it all over again if I could. My degree was a game changer in my life. I felt well prepared to begin my career in law and have enjoyed much success. Highly recommended."

"Before I graduated I had a number of offers from major law schools in Texas (Vinson & Elkins, Houston; Groce Locke & Hebdon, San Antonio; Bankston, Wright & Greenhill, Austin; and an offer in Dallas. My first choice was in Austin (my wife, also a South Texas grad, got offers for Texas A.G.'s office and the Court of Criminal Appeals). My early legal career included commercial/complex litigation; Insurance Defense; Environmental, Media, Personal Injury, Alternative Dispute resolution, to name just a few categories in my 35 year practice. I was made Partner in a few years in one of the most accomplished boutique litigation firms in the United States (Thank you South Texas). South Texas College of Law provided me with a well grounded, practice ready presence. In my first year of practice I tried a number of lawsuits to verdict. South Texas prepared me well for my trial/litigation career. For the last twenty-two years I have devoted my practice to Mediation and Arbitration as a co-founder of one of the most respected ADR firms in the country. I highly recommend South Texas College of Law Houston, which I believe stands toe-to-toe with any great law school in the United States. I have practiced before many Texas state Courts, Federal Courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. My three years at South Texas were demanding and the Professors I had were highly accomplished and dedicated to working with students to become some of the most accomplished lawyers in the U.S. Thank you again South Texas for a great legal education. -Ben"

"It is very helpful to be located in the. Middle of downtown were there is much to do. Being located downtown also makes it easy to use public transportation to reach the campus from any where in the city, allowing for study time on the way."

"A wide variety of teaching styles keeps the classes interesting! Not much pure Socratic teaching (thankfully!!). Rather, while they obviously encourage independent thinking, there is generally an effort by the faculty to convey the information you really need to take your analysis to the next level. The school also offers optional student-lead classes which give students the opportunity to ask questions in a less intimidating environment. These student-teachers also give valuable insight into test-taking strategies for that specific professor, and valuable law school survival tips. These and other classes & seminars demonstrate the school's dedication to their students' success."

"My graduate program is in the heart of a major international city- Houston leaves so many opportunities wide open for a career in law once you've graduated and this program is extremely well known and respected in this area. The transportation in is all public, however, there is plenty of it and there are so many great places to live in the surrounding areas. The school also provides housing assistance so those that have trouble or are coming from out of town. The social life is helped by our local student bar association as they plan get togethers and outings for those who would like to participate, but the student body is extremely motivated in getting to know one another and making a point to network with each other. The work load here at South Texas is substantial, but what law school doesn't have a large course load? You would be hard pressed to find one. The Value of the program is incredible. Not only do you get talented professors that have had years of successful experience in the field, but they also prepare you incredibly for the bar exam and get you connected for your future after leaving the college. Overall an incredible choice!"
