"This institute is the leading optometry school for patient care. The curriculum is clinic based and set up to help each student succeed. The faculty are well recognized and deserving of many honors. Class sizes are a good size (not too big nor too small). Lots of extra-circular involvement and student leadership in optometry nation wide."

"My education at the Southern College of Optometry thus far is unequivocally superior to other colleges within the area. From day one, we are taught skills that are relevant to clinical practice, even as a first year student. The faculty and staff are top notch, always having a friendly face and even a shoulder to cry on when school gets rough. While I would not trade my education here for anything, I am in need on financial support, as any other graduate student would be. Unlike undergraduate institutions, graduate schools are not afforded many opportunities for aid. This puts a burden on the experience, even to the point of questioning whether the career is worth the weight of debt that is no doubt at the end of the line."

"This school cares about the future of the students and the field of Optometry. There is no doubt that every faculty members does everything possible to ensure the student's wellness is put first. It also gives the absolute highest quality of education and has a moderate class size of 136. The school is represented by almost all 50 states and provides the students with the best patient contact experience to become a successful doctor. In addition, the offer a joint MBA program to help with business aspects of owning a practice."

"The Southern College of Optometry is excellent in preparing its students for their career. Even though it is in a lower economic area, it provides more patient contacts than almost any other school."

"The Southern College of Optometry is an immensely integrated and student involved school. The staff and faculty clearly cares about each and every student's success. Although the location in Memphis does not give it the most student friendly atmosphere, the location is pertinent to the incredibly high patient contact rate. The school is also on the cutting edge of Optometric technology and procedures."
