"Southern Illinois University has one of the few accredited Fire Service Management Programs to receive a Master's Degree from. This is a very good program and very credible among leaders of the fire service and Homeland Security industry. I am very fortunate to be able to attend this program and participate in it infancy. It is very expensive however and I would like to see more scholarship opportunities for the program. This program will do many needed tasks as far as increasing the professionalism of the fire services in Illinois and Missouri. I am very proud to have been a part of it and look forward to its success for the future. KP"

"I love this town and the university as well. My major complains are food and transportation, specially the latter. Carbondale's only bus service is provided by the University, some routes run from Monday through Friday! some even stop running early. But if you have to stay late, there is a late night transport/escort service, which makes me feel pretty safe."

"Southern Illinois University Carbondale has been a great experience thus far. The faculty is very easy and fun to work with. The school work completed is rigorous just as other architecture schools are, but in this industry this type of training is required so we can get a feel for what the real work life is like. The Campus is beautiful and has lots of open green spaces for public gathering. All in all, choosing to come to SIUC has been a great decision."
