"This school offered a thorough look at the field of Counseling Psychology and provided practical information for once you graduated. My priority at the time was to attend a program that could offer a balance between my Christian worldview and the field of psychology. I found that at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. I was provided with invaluable information regarding the profession and how to exhibit the qualities of a skilled counselor. There were times in the program where I was challenged to expand my perspective and my work ethic, which I think is important for the field in general. In hindsight, and in applying for a doctoral program currently, I would have liked more of a focus for pursuing the terminal degree in the field in addition to the focus on acquiring a license. However, if one doesn't see themselves pursuing additional education after receiving a Master's, this program would fulfill everything that person needs. I didn't attend this school as an undergraduate, and psychology was not my major. It is possible the concerns about presenting more information relevant for a doctoral degree were addressed in their undergraduate program. In any case, I was fully prepared to take my state examination so I could become licensed and was confident in my skills as well as my ability to pass the exam. I have Southwestern Assemblies of God University to thank for that. I look forward to continuing my education and further using what I learned."

"SAGU was not only a challenging school in regards to academics, they also challenge their students emotionally and spiritually. The staff takes a special interest in each student and prays for at least one each day. I know this because they would email a postcard with all their signatures saying, "We prayed for you today!" I often felt loved and supported being a distance education student. For the most part the professors were also very understanding to my situation. I lived in AK, so we had a time difference and meetings were often hard to set up. However, even when my dad ended up in the ICU for weeks at a time, they were kind and lenient. This school is not just creating future employees, they're nurturing future caretakers, philanthropists, mothers, fathers, and professionals."

"SAGU is a great place with a wonderful faculty. If you are looking to study in a Christian environment, this school is a great choice. It has a great focus on ministry to the local church. Also, it has a unique focus on preparation for missions work."

"Several of the professors I had while I was a student at Southwestern Assemblies of God University were fantastic. They helped me understand the material and succeed in my personal study of theology. The platform they use for their online curriculum was very user friendly."

"I really enjoyed the atmosphere that SAGU provided. It was the 3rd higher education institution (one was a 4 year university and the other a community college) and SAGU, by far, exceeded the other two when it came to personal relationships. The professors at SAGU are unlike any other. They not only wish to see you succeed, but they also work hard to see that happen. My only real regret is the degree that I chose. I chose it because I thought it would be fun (and it was!), but it wasn't at all beneficial to me in my career."

"I did most of my studies through their online program, so some of these ratings dealing with campus issues are from limited experience on campus. The staff and faculty were friendly and helpful with my military schedule. I am a National Guard Soldier and was activate a few times."

"I love the Organizational Leadership program. I love getting Godly counsel from experienced leaders and being challenged in current leadership models that are relevant to ministry or business. The only down-side to this program is that there isn't an accelerated course program; you must complete it in six semesters over two years whereas other programs allow you to work at a faster pace. Overall this is a great program that I've learned so much from and it will prepare me for my professional career."
