"Pros: The program is very open to choice of classes. There are 5 specific courses that need to be taken and then you have a choice of 5 electives. This gives you an opportunity to take a wealth of classes that really interest you. Cons: Academic Advisor wasn't too much help, but I had this problem in undergrad as well at another school so it seems pretty common."

"Temple's program is one of the best in the area. We have field experiences from the first semester. Our program is well connected with other school psychologists. Unfortunately, they do not offer too much funding and securing an assistantship is scarce."

"Good, dedicated teachers; good advisory service by teachers and staff; small classes and thus very effective studying"

"Temple has many connections in the sport management industry in the Philadelphia area. There are significant opportunities to network within the field and to gain valuable work and research experience while studying. The program in extremely convenient allowing me to continue at my full time job while in school. The professors are well-versed and active in the industry, often times offering commentary on current sports issues such as the NHL lockout and concussions in the NFL. Despite my congested schedule, I have found the professors to be accessible. My experience has been positive thus far and I look forward to being exposed to more opportunities as I continue my studies at Temple."

"Temple's English literature graduate program has some brilliant faculty whose classes are challenging and inspiring. Support outside of the classroom, however, can be iffy depending on the professor. The administrative and logistical aspects of the program frequently prove frustratingly incompetent. The social atmosphere of the program makes up for many of its downfalls, however: I've found my colleagues to be wonderful sources of support both in terms of academics and in terms of friendship. No competitive backstabbing here -- we're all in it together."

"There are many opportunities to better yourself in the Chemistry program at Temple. The faculty are extremely qualified and experienced, and involved in great scientific research. Many prestigious scientists in the field are invited to Temple each semester to give seminars on their current research, allowing you exposure to many different topics going on in chemistry, networking opportunities, and a general breadth of knowledge. The Temple chemistry department is a good choice for those considering higher degrees and that want to become involved in research."

"Your adviser is the most important aspect to your graduate school experience. Luckily I have an extremely intelligent and helpful mentor. The chemistry department is very small but most professors are approachable."

"Temple Sciences is flying under the radar but has been growing ever since I started. They have just broken ground on a new research building for chemistry about 2-3 months ago. Plenty of new facility have been hired over the last few years as well. Granted Temple is not on the level of a Princeton or Yale but is certainly headed in the right direction and is a place one can get a quality education. My only real problem is the way some of the system operates, for example, we sign two "award letters" a year, one for 3 months and one for 9 months, to receive our promised stipend. Also we have to re-sign up for health insurance every year as well. I guess the simple way of saying it is that I am disappointed that the program does not operate as simplified as it could considering it is a pretty large institution. They could really streamline things to make it much more user-friendly."
