"I graduated from Texas A&M University–San Antonio in 2015 with a degree in Mathematics, and I genuinely had a great experience there. What stood out most to me was how approachable and supportive the professors were. In the math department especially, the faculty really cared about whether students understood the material. They were always willing to answer questions, stay after class, or explain things in a different way until it clicked.Another big advantage was the smaller class sizes. It made a huge difference being in classes where professors actually knew your name and where you could easily ask questions or have real discussions. That environment made a challenging major like math feel much more manageable and even enjoyable at times. It also helped build a sense of community among students since you often saw the same people across multiple classes. The campus itself had a welcoming, close-knit feel. When I attended, the university was still growing, so it was exciting to watch new buildings and programs develop while still keeping that personal atmosphere. It never felt overwhelming or impersonal the way larger schools sometimes can.Overall, my time at Texas A&M–San Antonio gave me a strong academic foundation and a positive college experience. The supportive professors, smaller classes, and friendly campus environment made it a great place to study. I’m proud to be an alum and grateful for the education and opportunities the university provided."

"Texas A&M-San Antonio is a fast-growing University. Texas A&M-San Antonio has the potential to become the University that welcomes diversity. If not, it already is. I really loved being part of the A&M family. While being in Texas A&M-San Antonio, I was able to attend several activities the university and network with other students who were really interested in advancing their career. In one occasion, Texas A&M-San Antonio was able to bring the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). They offered an hour presentation and had staff at the end of the presentation to talk to students. They spoke of the many careers the FBI offers and how to get with the federal agency. Texas A&M-San Antonio also provided me with the tools to deal with life as their instructors were well aware that we live in a society that is changing. On the other hand, the program of Criminology was full of instructors whose experience had already a career based on the field. When they were teaching in class, they were not only talking from the book, but from their own experience. Some professors already had their Ph.D. while others were earning their Ph.D. I had a quality of instructors. They knew what they were teaching, and they were interested in our learning as well. Although I must admit that Texas A&M-San Antonio needs more contacts and networking with the hiring companies. It is absolutely essential that the university establishes those contacts so students can graduate with a job already. Many of us struggle to connect with good employers, and the university will be a great bridge to assist its students."

"As a former graduate I highly recommend TAMU-SA to future students, TAMU-SA greatly assisted me with the transition from the community college to the university life. I loved how student oriented the staff and professors were, it was almost like being at a community college with a University feel to it. My overall experience was great, classes were rarely overcrowded which really allowed the professors to answer questions and discuss topics in detail. Many courses provided the option of watching a live feed and a recorded class lecture to watch at the students convenience. These Hyflex courses were a lifesaver for busy students that were unable to physically attend the lecture and still wanted to participate. Overall compared to other local Universities, A&M really gave you the best bang for your buck."

"Texas A&M San Antonio is relatively new so they are lacking in some areas such as social life, transportation, and career development but they have the lowest tuition in the city. The graduate program in Counseling is not APA accredited however, the faculty are easily accessible and the classes stay relatively small making for personal connections with professors."
