"The Pros of the Child and Family development program is the fact that most of the professors take time off their busy schedules to work with each student one on one to see if the student is effectively getting what he or she needs. The professors are passionate and shows a great interest is making sure every student is learning the material. The con is we do not have enough professors in the department so the choice is very limited on what professor you choose to take for a class."

"I am appreciative to get accepted to TSU pharmacy college. TSU pharmacy has diversity of students such as Black, White, Hispanic and Asian. Everyone here does not discriminate but help each other through school obstacles. However, the school does not have enough high-tech teaching tools since they do not have funding. I wish that they would have more funding so that they can provide better teaching."

"At Texas Southern University there is a strong emphasis on providing the essential needs, as well as beyond those essential needs, to make sure every student is successful within the graduate program. The faculty and staff at TSU implement how each student should be treated and educated within their field of study. TSU goes even further to help students succeed in their jouney outside of the institution so they may become successful in their lives and careers. Although there are not many cons to TSU's graduate program, there are some improvments that can be made. Students can be better guided on how to become successful in their graduate studies and also be taught how to apply the skills learned within the graduate study towards their career."

"Texas Southern University has become my second home, just as any other institution it has its pros and cons. The professors are very friendly but stern and concerned about their students. While the expect you to be an adult and do many things on your own they will not hesitate to help if asked."

"The Counselor Education Program at Texas Southern is one that assures the student has the right number of credit hours to sit for the State Exam.It is also one that tends to make sure the students know the information. The requirements for applying and entry such as GPA and GRE scores are low compared to other programs. In this sense the program makes up for the low requirements by implementing a rigorous work load. There's a requirement for the student to complete four prerequisite courses, in addition to completing an exam covering information from all four courses. 80 is the passing score. If the student achieve success in both the courses and the exam then they are allowed by the counseling program to continue pursuing a degree. This program tends to fully prepare those achieving students for professional work in counseling."

"The professors in my program are very knowledgeable and will assist the student in any endeavors that are chosen. The professors do not mind going the "extra mile' to ensure that each student receives a quality education as well as support. The program should offer more Saturday courses since there are student who are commuting from various areas in Texas."

"The pros of this program are the campus is small enough for the students to feel like they get a chance to really learn from and build a relationship with the professors. Unfortunately, the school has a low bar passage rate, which is frowned upon by potential employers."

"I believe that the pros of the program are the level of expertise and availability of the professors. I also believe that the value of the program that I am in is extremely high. This program teaches a culturally relevant curriculum that fosters our ability to go in the local educational system and be extremely successful. The biggest con is that at this level of education the only financial aid available seems to be getting the dreaded student loan."

"The main con for the Chemistry Graduate program is that their is not enough funding to conduct research, which places a big hold on the graduating process. A pro to the graduate program at Texas Southern is that even though the student are competive they are still helpful and willing to advice student that are just starting the program. The professor are also very helpful and it is understood that we are all working towards a common goal of getting the students to graduate and make a long lasting career."
