"Pros: Very cheap, affordable tuition, very supportive and attentive staff that is receptive to criticism and change and genuinely cares about students. Lubbock is a good city for students as it is cheap, but still has enough to do around the city. Cons: Some professors are very good at teaching, others not so much, but this is a problem at every school. Our IT department is also not the best, but our school is working on it."

"TTUHSC SOM is an incredible institution. As an out of state applicant, I was not aware of Tech before applying. When I came down for my interview, I fell in love with the place. The faculty and staff are exceptional and really care about the students. They go out of their way to make sure that we are successful and really provide great career advice. The teaching hospital setup is great and the regional campus setup helps to ensure that we have good faculty to student ratios. I love the connection with the TTU system and the access to various sporting events really provides an awesome study break. I could not be any happier with my decision to attend Texas Tech SOM."

"This program is mainly focused towards medical school applicants. The biggest advantage of this 2-year graduate program is how it prepares you for medical school. You are a teaching assistant for the first year medical school class and work side by side with faculty mentors. The only con of this program is the 2-year gap between undergraduate and medical school, however, it is worth the wait. I would encourage everyone who is interested in medical school to look into completing this masters program first!"

"I am a 1st year student in Occupational Therapy at Texas Tech HSC. I have been very impressed with the teaching and the way the program is structured. I believe they are setting up their students very well to hit the ground running when finished with school. The teachers are very approachable and will bend over backwards to help you succeed. I am extremely happy and proud to have chosen Texas Tech in furthering my education."

"When accepted into the TTUHSC DPT program, I was merely thankful to have the opportunity to attend a PT school. However, once courses began I realized how fortunate I was to be apart of such a prestigious program. The faculty and staff truly made my schooling experience engaging, rigorous, and rewarding. They would set aside time to answer questions and assess my clinical skills in lab. I am now currently participating in clinical internships. There is not a day that passes, when I am not proud to state I am a TTUHSC student. Practicing clinicians have complimented TexasTech students and graduates. I am prepared and confident with each patient I work with. I would recommend the TTUHSC DPT Program to every student desiring to be an excellent physical therapy clinician."

"Pros: Low cost of attendance, recent faculty hires which have greatly increased overall quality of education, strong reputation in orthopedics, excellent anatomy course with cadaver lab Cons: 3 split campuses limits access and communication with distant professors, lectures delivered over live video make learning difficult, little to do in the cities in which the campuses are located, severe weather conditions are common, several classes involve ridiculous busy work,"

"The TTUHSC DPT program is a fantastic program. The three biggest pros of the program are the use and promotion of technology use, the connections it has with the rest of the Health Science Center and adjoining hospital, and a very qualified and personable faculty. I do not believe that the program is lacking enough in any one area to be mentioned."

"TTUHSC professors care deeply about teaching us to be physical therapists that treat holistically and giving us a great education to be ready and capable to go into the clinic with the best base knowledge possible. They teach using up-to-date technology and using research evidence to back up their lectures. It is obvious that they want us to succeed because they care so much about the future of physical therapy. Our coursework is strenuous and equivalent to the doctorate level program that it should be, and we are also prepared well and pushed to reach our highest potential in the coursework. TTUHSC offers us academic and emotional support because they care about their students. They offer us the highest quality education while also being affordable."

"I'm very thankful and blessed to be apart of this program. The education I am receiving is second to none, and the faculty are very supportive and treat their students as future colleagues. I feel like I have lifelong mentors that will continue to help and guide me once I am a certified DPT."

"Couldn't imaging attending a different DPT program. The support and encouragement I've received thus far, and that I know I will continue to receive has made a huge impact on my overall learning experience and success with synthesizing the information. While I don't have my immediate family nearby- I don't feel alone due to the family atmosphere here at TTUHSC. The one downfall and disappointment has been the struggle with getting clinical sites, but this is a work in progress and the program is striving to make improvements in this area."

"I can not imagine having chosen any other DPT program to attend other than TTUHSC. The program offers the highest education with an amazing staff. The professors here are willing to go above and beyond to further each and every student's education. We are all part of a team, including students and staff, and help each other to make sure we are getting the most out of our time here at Texas Tech. I am confident that when I graduate from the program, I will have been provided with the best knowledge and skill set in order to be the best physical therapist I can be."

"The TTUHSC DPT program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the work place beyond that of an entry level clinician. The professors are knowledgeable in their respective fields and do a great job of conveying information to the students. I look forward to the rest of my time as a TTUHSC DPT student because I know that I will be taught all of the skills necessary to effectively impact the lives of the patients I will encounter."

"I feel that the TTUHSC DPT program has been put together in a way that prepares the entry level clinician to perform well above average in any and every PT setting they come to encounter. I have only heard good things about our program from all parts of Texas, and from a variety of therapists. With interest in Sports and Orthopedics, I feel that the courses I am taking and labs I participate in are helping me develop skills and sound clinical understanding to provide the best care for the patients and clients I will treat in the clinic. The faculty here are great at what they do, are always welcoming to their students, and are continually trying to help us succeed. Plus, they remind us that learning the material includes asking questions and making mistakes, both of which I do plenty of."

"I have loved my time in the DPT program at TTUHSC so far. The faculty and professors are so knowledgeable and truly invested in helping every student to prepare to become the best clinician they can be. My peers have helped to foster a wonderful learning environment. And this program has prepared me very well for the clinical experiences I have gone through so far. I am so grateful I chose to pursue my DPT degree through TTUHSC."

"I love the overall atmosphere that is provided by the TTUHSC physical therapy program. The faculty is great and do everything possible to help you to succeed. Another aspect of TTUHSC that I enjoy is the way classes are team oriented. I feel very confident about beginning work in the clinic because of the great educational foundation I have received at TTUHSC. Wreck Em'!"

"Pros: Texas Tech Health Sciences Center has a fantastic Doctor of Physical Therapy program that takes pride in teaching patient care and satisfaction. Students are treated as individuals and encouraged to be engaged in their learning. Faculty are completely devoted to the students and are always enthusiastic about their jobs as both teachers and clinicians. They are dedicated to helping each student succeed individually and one-on-one time with instructors is very accessible. TTUHSC offers many opportunities to get involved with other health fields to incorporate collaboration between disciplines and provide interdisciplinary approaches to patient care. TTUHSC DPT program is one of the best in the nation and I could not have chosen a better university to attain my career choice."
