"Initially, I did not want to stay in San Antonio for college. When I was in high school, I applied to many out of state and city schools, and I was accepted in to all of them. However, when it came time to look at the financial aid packages, some of my dream schools were just too out of reach. I was immediately discouraged, and I actually applied to UTSA rather late in the game (March/April). My first two years of college flew by, where I was studying Biology and adamantly believed that I was going to go to medical school and transfer out of UTSA. However, in my junior year, I had to go to an academic counselor to review my progress. In that meeting, I realized that I was likely in the wrong degree plan, and that my true passion lied in Health and Wellness. Fast forward to my final semester of undergrad, and I am completing an internship that the College of Education and Human Development requires in the degree plan. Then, in March of that semester, I was offered a full-time job with a client company that I established a relationship with during my internship. Two years later, I am now employed, full-time, and doing exactly what I wanted to do in my undergrad years. I've seen a few of my high school friends who pursued the same degree at other universities, and they did not have the same opportunities that I did. If you are interested in the health/wellness/medical field, UTSA is a great choice. Even now, I refer back to many of my professors/teachers from my undergrad courses, and I constantly think back on all of the people I met through networking, internship and volunteer opportunities."

"College at the University of Texas at San Antonio is worth it. If you want an affordable education in a city often referred to as the "big small town" for its small town feel, then UTSA is a great option to consider. Its location offers a fun and practical place to attend college. Professors are always willing to work with students to help them achieve to the best of their ability"

"UTSA has a great bio-medical program and it is only growing. The campus is well laid out and there are plenty of great places to study. I transfered to UTSA from Maryland because of family reasons and I was grateful wonderful the program was. I happened to be working full time as an undergrad and they have 2 campuses in San Antonio. The option to take classes at both classes really helped with scheduling. I prefer the main campus but the down town campus is very nice and clean and accommodating."

"I had a great experience here, it was affordable as far as university's go. I would get my MBA here but they don't offer a full online program that I am seeking. When I left they were introducing the hybrid courses which I really liked! My overall 4 yr BBA was about 35k. Go Roadrunners!"

"The university is a great place to interact and network with people of all walks of life. They have many opportunities to excel and find a job right after college. However the overall success in your career is ultimately going to depend on you, many of the opportunities available are not in the same city."

"UTSA was an amazing school experience that I would definitely recommend to those seeking to better themselves for there future. All the staff that I encountered were so willing to help me succeed in getting an education. I was so satisfied with my experience while perusing my Bachelor's that when it came for me to decide what school I wanted to enroll at to received my masters, I immediately looked into enrolling at UTSA again for there masters in Health and Kinesiology program. Potentially I wouldn't mind working for UTSA as a professor in the Health and Kinesiology field so that I may help to uphold the amazing reputation that the staff there have."

"I truly enjoyed the atmosphere at UTSA; I became involved in many clubs and made some great friends. My studies were rigorous and the classes I took helped to shape my teaching philosophy. I enjoyed UTSA so much that I couldn't stay away and I am currently getting my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction through UTSA. I highly recommend attending UTSA and getting involved in clubs and attending the events that offered. Volunteer, go to Movie nights, make sure you go to the Fiesta events, and football games are a must! Rent a room in the library to study with friends and relax with some chic fil a by the fountain. Make sure get to campus early enough to find a parking spot. Enjoy your time because it will go by so fast."

"I feel that going to school in a smaller program did help me get well adjusted to the new experience of college, specifically coming from a lower income area and moving far away from home. I do feel though that my program did not provide me with enough research experience that would provide me with the opportunity to pursue a graduate assistantship to help with out of state tuition for my graduate program."

"UTSA professors and staff try to help all their students succeed, they have office hours and if the office hours are inconvenient to the student they will schedule a different time and sometimes a different place, they respond to emails as quickly as possible and try their best to help the students succeed. Some professors go beyond this call and give their students their cell phone numbers so if the student has any questions then they can always ask. The university puts the students first. The university has programs to help students that need it, rather it is writing, tutoring, or counseling. The department chairs are welcoming and friendly and any complaints a student has about another professor the department chair will keep them confidential."

"The UTSA program's focus on cultural competency is important to integrate into the social work experience. The emphasis on the importance of this is present throughout the curriculum and is evident in the surrounding community. Networking is in place to assure experience in the field, and a comprehensive understanding of the field on both a micro and macro level is experienced. Teachers show passion for the field and allow students to be leaders in their educational experience. The surrounding area of the downtown campus has very few things to do around it, and does not provide many opportunities for social activities for students in graduate programs who take night classes but does immerse individuals in public policy to be immersed in the community where they are likely to work."

"I enjoyed my entire experience as an undergraduate student at UTSA. It's a wonderful university with excellent professors and staff. The campus itself is very large and beautiful. I have nothing but positive memories from this school and I would do it all over again if I had to."

"UTSA has a broad, inclusive focus. When I graduated, UTSA was the 5th largest Hispanic university in the United States. I think that having such an inclusive focus sets UTSA apart from other university's in the US and in San Antonio. Also, UTSA tuition prices are lower than any other public university in San Antonio. I value my education deeply and am so glad that I chose UTSA to receive my degree."

"Not nearly enough research or grant opportunity at the time. Internal faculty conflicts.School was certainly growing and getting better but there are so many better programs out there I can't recommend UTSA's."

"My graduate program is very small, and the people are all very close and helpful. I have a great advisor and she is helpful and responds to each email very fast. The only con is that the scholarships offered for graduate students...well there is only one really offered as far as I can tell and I think that is one con."
