"I feel that I learned a great deal at Towson University. Through the internship program I was able to obtain field experience at different elementary schools, which allowed me a diverse background in teaching. I have not taught for 10 years in a Self Contained program and have also received a Masters Degree from Towson University in Education- Reading Specialist. I am now seeking a certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis to continue broadening my background in teaching and help further my students during their journey in school."

"I had the time of my life while attending Towson University. During my freshman year, I was sure to get involved in on-campus activities so that i could meet people. Towson is diverse; from Caribbean Student Union to Queer Student Union to the Muslim Student Union. Being an African American woman, I was given the opportunity to develop relationships with people from all walks of life. I expanded my views on some topics and developed a view on others. Towson helped shape me to be the young adult and educator that I am today. I will forever be a Towson Tiger!"

"The Speech-Pathology and Audiology program at Towson is a competitive major that requires screening in order to be accepted to. In order to be screened in, you have to take two semesters of pre-requisite courses including BIOL190 (Introduction to Biology for the Health Professions). You can complete some or all of these courses at a different university and have them transferred to Towson, but make sure that they are the correct courses and that Towson accepts them! Once you have taken the required courses, your overall GPA will be put on a list of other students who are applying to the major, and the top 70 students will get accepted. The acceptance rate varies year to year, but it's usually somewhere around 50%. Once accepted to the major, you are expected to maintain grades no lower than a C, however, in reality, if you want to make it to graduate school you should not be getting any grades lower than a B. Some classes are difficult, and you don't have many options when choosing professors or class times for major related classes, because there is usually only one professor who can teach classes like Hearing Science, Phonetics, etc. However, the classes are very interesting, and most of the professors really want their students to do well. You really feel like you're learning medical science in this major, and it's very rewarding when you put the time and effort in to it!"

"Pros: instructor knowledge and life experience, flexibility with assignments, cohorts at a convenient location for working adults. Cons: Distance for cohort location sometimes long, partial tuition not covered by employer and not discounted."
